CJ Perry, known for years as Lana in WWE, returned to the company in 2025 with a legendary contract, but she has not yet made her return to television. Meanwhile, Rusev has been appearing on screen for almost a year and is scheduled to compete at WrestleMania 42.
Her absence alongside him has not gone unnoticed, especially because in AEW they used to appear together frequently. In WWE, for now, that formula has not been repeated.
In a conversation with Ariel Helwani, Perry responded humorously when asked about her current situation. She said that "Lana is exiled in Siberia" and that, for the moment, she is focused on writing for Uncrowned while waiting for the right moment to reappear.
She also made it clear that she has not abandoned the creative side of the business. As she explained, she is interested in continuing to tell stories and entertain, whether on a podcast, doing stand-up, or writing about wrestling.
Perry acknowledged that working with her husband again would be a dream. She emphasized that she loves collaborating with creative people and said that Rusev is one of the smartest, funniest, most athletic, and iconic wrestlers she knows.
Lana, at this moment, is exiled in Siberia. She has disappointed her country and is working there. CJ, when the right time comes, will appear. I hope that happens sooner rather than later, but in the meantime, I am focusing on writing for Uncrowned. I love new adventures.
The possibility of seeing them together on screen again remains open, although Perry insisted that she does not want to force anything. She prefers the opportunity to come when the timing is right.
Meanwhile, Rusev is fully focused on his Intercontinental Championship ladder match at WrestleMania 42. His presence at the event further increases curiosity about whether WWE will take advantage of that exposure to reintroduce Perry at some point in the programming. For now, the situation remains the same: Rusev is in the spotlight and CJ Perry awaits her backstage moment.
