WWE is finalizing the preparations for the biggest weekend of the year. WrestleMania 42 will take place tomorrow Saturday and Sunday at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. In total, the grand event will feature a card of thirteen matches, eight of them title matches, as well as a few surprises.
One of them has been revealed in the last few hours by specialized media outlets such as PWInsider and Fightful, who have been able to confirm that Paige has signed a contract with WWE, with her return to the company scheduled for tomorrow. The British wrestler would replace Nikki Bella in the Women's Tag Team Championship match.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Paige was seen in the rehearsals for the grand event matches teaming up with Brie Bella, indicating that Nikki will not be medically cleared in time. If that's the case, it is expected that the company will continue to keep Paige hidden until the moment of the match to generate the biggest reaction possible.
Paige became known worldwide after her debut in WWE. The British wrestler had a great run in NXT before becoming one of the driving forces behind the so-called "women's revolution", achieving tremendous success in the company. However, her career ended prematurely in 2017 due to an unfortunate neck injury.
After that, the company gave her a role as the manager of SmackDown and later of the team formed by Asuka and Kairi Sane (The Kabuki Warriors). However, when WWE stopped using her, the wrestler decided not to renew her contract, which expired in the summer of 2022. At that time, Paige was optimistic about a return to the ring, something that finally happened in All Elite Wrestling.
The British wrestler ended her time with Tony Khan's company a year ago. Since then, she has not stopped training with the possibility of a potential return to WWE. One that could be unbeatable, both because of the chosen stage and the opportunity to win a championship on her first day.
