Jake Hager had a successful debut on Power Slap on Friday night, winning by knockout in the third round over Devin 'Big Jinxx' Jenkins. The victory marked a new stage for the former heavyweight world champion, who also competed in Bellator MMA.
Hager reached this point after a very critical departure from AEW, the company where his contract expired in May 2024. In subsequent interviews, he was very harsh on Tony Khan and expressed feeling very disillusioned with his departure, although he had not competed in a ring since November 2024.
Prior to his arrival at Power Slap, Hager had four fights in Bellator, where he had a record of 3-0-1. His last MMA fight was in October 2020, and in 2023 he had already publicly announced his retirement from mixed martial arts.
The same event also produced other noteworthy results: Lance Anoa'i won by knockout in his debut against Amanpreet Singh, while "Hollyhood" Haley J secured a victory by decision over Destiny McCubbin.
With this triumph, Hager adds another chapter to a career that has already gone through WWE, AEW, Bellator, and now Power Slap, where he made an immediate impact in his first appearance.
