WWE carried out a new wave of layoffs last Friday. More than twenty talents, from both the main roster and the developmental territory, were released by the company. Among them was Luca Crusifino, who not only closed a chapter in WWE, but also professionally.
Crusifino has announced his retirement from professional wrestling. The former wrestler wanted to thank the entire WWE team for allowing him to fulfill a dream, and the fans for their support during this brief, but intense, stage of his life. Luca even joked about not jumping to OnlyFans to lighten the mood.
"After much reflection, I have decided that it is time to close this chapter of my life. Being part of WWE has been a dream since I was a child. Having the opportunity to live that dream in front of the world is something I will never take for granted. To the fans... thank you for every ovation, every boo, every moment of support. You made this journey unforgettable.
I will be eternally grateful for the friendships I made along the way. To the talents, the coaches, the creative team, and each and every person I came into contact with at the Performance Center... thank you! Thank you for pushing me, for believing in me, and for sharing the ring with me. I have learned more than I could ever express in words and I have met some of the best people, who will be lifelong friends.
As of today, I officially retire from professional wrestling. It's not an easy decision, but it's the right one for me. This is not a goodbye, just the end of an incredible chapter. Again, I cannot say it enough... thank you! These last 4 years have been amazing. And don't worry about me... I will find my way. And no, I'm not going to start an OnlyFans.
With love, Roman Macek (Luca Crusifino)", he wrote on his X account.
Born in the state of Pennsylvania, Macek played college American football, in addition to studying law. Studies he did not complete to try his luck in WWE, a company from which he received an offer to be part of its developmental territory in 2023. His law studies were an inspiration for his first character (a lawyer) in NXT, quickly being recruited by Tony D'Angelo for his faction, The D'Angelo Family.
After the team split, Crusifino was sent to EVOLVE, where he continued his solo path. Soon, the wrestler disappeared from television programming only to return months later with a new pacifist character. However, upon his return, he was only able to compete in one match before the company informed him of his dismissal.
