Sheamus disappeared from WWE television programming in mid-November. At that time, it was reported that the Irishman was dealing with issues in one of his shoulders, which led him to undergo surgery a month later. Now, almost half a year later, fans continue to wonder when "The Celtic Warrior" will be able to return to action.
During a recent interview for OTB Football, the Irishman was directly asked about the topic. Sheamus explained the origin of his problem and how he has had to deal with it in the past few months. The wrestler also indicated that he is still going to rehabilitation awaiting the desired medical clearance to return to the ring.
"Yes, this has been complicated. It practically came out of nowhere. I started to notice the shoulder around May-June at Clash in Paris against Rusev. It was bothering me and I thought I had torn it. I was given a couple of injections and it felt fine for a while, but in the end, it was just a matter of time before it stopped responding. I tried to push through until the point where I couldn't move my arms. I had surgery on December 30. Since then, I've been in rehabilitation. I'm looking forward to getting back in the ring and back to work. I'm going crazy being locked up," he said.
Sheamus last competed on the November 17 episode of Monday Night Raw, where he teamed up with John Cena and Rey Mysterio to defeat the male members of The Judgment Day (Finn Bálor, JD McDonagh, and Dominik Mysterio). Meanwhile, fans await his return hoping to see him compete against the current sensation, Oba Femi, and resume the quest for the final piece needed to become a WWE Grand Slam Champion: the Intercontinental Title, currently held by Penta.
