A few weeks ago, La Catalina surprised fans with her departure from CMLL to debut in Lucha Libre AAA. The wrestler was welcomed with a huge ovation, almost instantly becoming a fan favorite and the biggest threat to Flammer, the current Reina de Reinas Champion of the company.

Recently, La Catalina participated in a press conference (via @LaRazon_mx), where she openly talked about her departure from CMLL and her signing with AAA, acknowledging that she did not expect such a positive reception as the one she experienced on the night of her debut.

"I am very grateful for all of this. Thank you very much for the opportunity and for everything I have experienced, but now I am in a different stage of my life and I wanted something more. You always want more and strive to improve yourself. I think this was a huge risk. I swear I spent months thinking about what would happen. I was as professional as possible in the other company; I worked until the last day of the month, April passed, and my new path began," she said.

"My new stage is now about improving myself, doing different things, and continuing to grow, and I believe that, nowadays, AAA offers that. It has a platform for international wrestlers. What I mean is that I made my debut and it was not just something important in Mexico. It had a great impact worldwide. I checked Twitter. In Japan, in China, and in my own country (Chile), there were many people talking about it. Throughout Latin America, people knew that La Catalina had made a change. That's what we aim for as professionals; every wrestler wants to make a name for themselves through that."

"Everything in this world changes. Entertainment, music, movies, artificial intelligence... everything can be done with that, and the wrestler has also evolved. It's no longer just about entering the ring and putting on a good show; you have to offer the audience something memorable for them to take that memory with them. Catalina learned what she had to learn, improved a lot, received some well-deserved beatings, but now comes the challenge of becoming a character that stays in people's memories. Being someone who is remembered for a while, maybe even a lifetime. Remembering who La Catalina is: that's the work I want to do now, and that's what I see with AAA."

"My debut was crazy; I didn't even expect the impact it would have. I thought it would be cool, that people would cheer and all that, but it caused a great stir, something I didn't even expect. Everything that comes next is going to be super amazing, super new, and we are going to be the center of attention," she concluded.
