WWE has added two more matches to the Backlash 2026 card, which will take place on May 9th in Tampa, Florida. The first one will be Trick Williams defending the United States Championship against Sami Zayn, a rematch born after the chaotic segment on Friday's SmackDown.

In that same show, Zayn destroyed the Gingerbread Man's suit after feeling insulted, which led Williams to intervene and then accuse Zayn of crossing the line. As a follow-up, WWE announced for the next SmackDown the "funeral" of the Gingerbread Man, making it clear that the rivalry will continue to heat up before Backlash.

The other update on the show is that Danhausen has been authorized by Nick Aldis to fight against The Miz and Kit Wilson, but only if he finds a teammate. This comes after Miz and Wilson fell into another trap set by Danhausen, which ended with both covered in dust after the deception.

Updated WWE Backlash 2026 Card

  • Heavyweight World Championship: Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jacob Fatu
  • United States Championship: Trick Williams (c) vs. Sami Zayn
  • IYO SKY vs. Asuka
  • Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker
  • The Miz and Kit Wilson vs. Danhausen and a teammate yet to be announced
