WWE would have confirmed a new round of layoffs that includes two members of New Day and two members of MFT, according to a report from Fightful Select. The list mentioned in the report is composed of Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, JC Mateo, and Tonga Loa.
Kofi Kingston, signed in 2006, wrestled for the last time on the April 17 episode of SmackDown and leaves behind a career full of achievements, including reigns as WWE Champion, United States Champion, Intercontinental Champion, and Tag Team Champion. Xavier Woods, on the other hand, was hired in 2010 and his last match was in a dark match at the Royal Rumble, while he remains sidelined due to injury and has accumulated multiple tag team reigns.
As for the MFT members, JC Mateo signed in 2025 and had his last match on SmackDown on April 24, while Tonga Loa, signed in 2024, wrestled for the last time on Raw on April 13. Their departure adds to a wave of recent movements that continue to reshape various areas of the roster.
The news is particularly impactful due to what New Day represents in WWE's recent history, in addition to leaving MFT without two of its most visible names. At the moment, the report does not offer more details about the immediate future of each individual, but the list already positions these departures as one of the biggest shake-ups of the weekend.
