Lucha Libre AAA on FOX May 2, 2026: coverage and results

Lucha Libre AAA and FOX bring us a new show tonight from the Auditorio José María Arteaga in Querétano, Mexico. The event will feature an interesting one-on-one match between El Hijo del Vikingo and Mini Vikingo. In addition, El Grande Americano and Original El Grande Americano will sign the contract for their "Mask vs. Mask" match.

We see the arrival of some of the show's protagonists at the venue: Original El Grande Americano, El Grande Americano, Rey Fenix, Laredo Kid, Mini Vikingo, and El Ojo Que Todo lo Ve in full force. 

Dorian Roldán informs El Hijo del Vikingo that he will have a shot at the AAA Latin American Championship at La Noche de los Grandes. "I love that plan you always have. It's a wonderful plan, but Wagner is a nepobaby, a poor idiot. His legacy, his family, are trash. We are family. And you will be a great AAA General Manager and I a great Latin American Champion," says El Hijo del Vikingo. With that said, he asks Roldán for five minutes, which is how long it will take him to deal with Mini Vikingo. El Hijo del Vikingo heads to the ring, at which point Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. appears. "Family? What do you know about that?", asks the masked man while patting Roldán. The Latin American Champion leaves. Omos tries to go after him, but Dorian stops him.

El Hijo del Vikingo vs. Mini Vikingo

El Hijo del Vikingo attacks Mini Vikingo by surprise even before the bell rings. El Hijo del Vikingo goes after his opponent again once the match officially begins. El Hijo del Vikingo ruthlessly kicks his opponent in one of the corners. "Screw your mother, Hijo del Vikingo!" chant the fans. El Hijo del Vikingo covers Mini Vikingo. 1..2..NO. El Hijo del Vikingo takes his rival to the ropes to continue beating him at will.

El Hijo del Vikingo continues to dominate the match without any issues. El Hijo del Vikingo traps Mini Vikingo in a tight submission hold. Meanwhile, he smashes his face against the canvas. El Hijo del Vikingo places his leg over his opponent to cover him in the most humiliating way possible. 1..2..NO. Mini Vikingo recovers to hit El Hijo del Vikingo, but he responds forcefully. A tremendous kick to the midsection sends Mini Vikingo to ringside.

El Hijo del Vikingo throws his rival against the metal stairs. El Hijo del Vikingo takes Mini Vikingo to the entrance ramp to execute a suplex. El Hijo del Vikingo returns to the ring to interrupt the referee's count of 10. El Hijo del Vikingo goes back for Mini Vikingo to continue punishing him against the steel of the ramp. The referee approaches to order the former AAA Megachampion back to the ring.

El Hijo del Vikingo takes Mini Vikingo back inside the ring to cover him. 1..2.. El Hijo del Vikingo interrupts the count to keep beating his opponent. Mini Vikingo recovers to surprise his rival. He escapes to ringside, where he receives a tremendous combo screw + crucifix bomb. Both men are left lying on the ground. Mini Vikingo takes El Hijo del Vikingo back inside the ring.

Mini Vikingo jumps on El Hijo del Vikingo, but he receives him with his knees. El Hijo del Vikingo executes a powerbomb. 1...2...NO. Furious, El Hijo del Vikingo unleashes a flurry of attacks on his rival, even trying to suffocate him. El Hijo del Vikingo removes one of the turnbuckle pads. After that, he goes back for his opponent, but it's the latter who throws him against the unprotected corner! Mini Vikingo performs a 450 Splash. 1..2..NO!

The referee picks up the pad to put it back in place. Suddenly, El Hijo del Vikingo hits Mini Vikingo with an exploder suplex, who collides with the official. He falls to ringside. Mini Vikingo surprises El Hijo del Vikingo with a roll-up. "1..2..3", chant the fans. Mini Vikingo realizes the referee is still down. Mini Vikingo approaches the ropes to check on the official, at which point his rival surprises him with a lariat.

El Hijo del Vikingo takes his rival to the top turnbuckle to execute a tremendous uranage. However, he injures his right arm upon impact with the canvas. Still, El Hijo del Vikingo covers his rival, but the referee remains knocked out. Furious, El Hijo del Vikingo exits the ring to look for a metal chair. El Hijo del Vikingo prepares to use it against his adversary. Suddenly, Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. bursts onto the scene!

Hijo del Dr. Wagner snatches the chair from El Hijo del Vikingo to hit him with it. Then, he performs a Wagner Driver on him. El Hijo del Vikingo's back slams against the chair. Mini Vikingo climbs to a height to dive with a Phoenix 630 Splash. The referee returns to make the three count. 1..2..3.

Winner: Mini Vikingo

Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. and Mini Vikingo celebrate on the entrance ramp. Suddenly, a furious Omos attacks them from behind! The Nigerian throws Mini Vikingo against one of the posts before taking Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. inside the ring. Omos repeatedly attacks the Latin American Champion. However, as he is about to finish him off, Galeno appears to help his partner! The masked men join forces to expel Omos from the ring. The Nigerian exchanges looks with Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno as the segment comes to an end.

Laredo Kid vs. Rey Fenix

Both men start with a feeling-out phase showcasing their agility. Rey Fenix delivers a resounding chop to Laredo before sending him out of the ring. Rey Fenix looks for momentum to dive onto his rival, but he returns to prevent it with a clothesline. 1..2..NO. Kid continues attacking Rey Fenix, earning boos from the fans.

Laredo executes a direct dropkick to the back of his rival's head. 1..2..NO. Kid demands the referee to count faster. Rey Fenix tries to recover, but his opponent knocks him down with a Michinoku Driver. 1..2..NO. Laredo climbs to dive with a plancha. 1..2..NO. "Fenix, Fenix!" chant the fans. Rey Fenix surprises the Cruiserweight Champion with several kicks. Kid leans on the ropes, where he receives a Tightrope Penalty Kick. 1..2..NO.

The action moves to the apron. Both men struggle. Rey Fenix kicks Laredo in the face, causing him to fall to ringside. Rey Fenix jumps between the ropes to apply a pair of scissors. Rey Fenix takes his opponent back inside the ring to dive with a moonsault. 1..2..NO. Rey Fenix keeps hitting Kid, preparing him for a Mexican Muscle Buster. Kid frees himself to take down his opponent. Laredo dives with a moonsault. Rey Fenix dodges it, only to receive a Canadian Destroyer out of nowhere. 1..2..NO. "This is wrestling!" chant the fans.

Laredo slaps Rey Fenix, who responds with a rolling cutter. 1...2...NO. Both men exchange chops on their knees on the canvas. Laredo and Rey Fenix continue exchanging attacks. Kid stops his rival with a right hand before seeking height. Laredo taunts Penta with his classic "Cero Miedo" gesture, which Rey Fenix takes advantage of to surprise him with a corner back elbow. Rey Fenix carries Kid on his shoulders to finish him with a Mexican Muscle Buster. 1..2..3.

Winner: Rey Fenix

Fans throw coins into the ring to thank the masked wrestlers for the match they just offered. Rey Fenix tries to help Laredo stand up, but the Cruiserweight Champion rejects it. Rey Fenix extends his hand to Kid. Meanwhile, he asks him to observe the canvas and the fans' reaction. Laredo looks around, only to leave backstage ignoring his opponent.

We see a video recap of the conflict within Los Psycho Circus starring Psycho Clown and Pagano. It is announced that both men will have a face-off next week. Additionally, La Catalina will have her debut match in AAA. 

Jesús Zuñiga, Dorian Roldán, and Andrea Bazarte preside over the night's main segment: the contract signing for the "Mask vs. Mask" match between El Grande Americano and Original El Grande Americano at AAA La Noche de los Grandes. Due to the enmity between the two, nearly a dozen security members surround the table in the center of the ring.

Zuñiga introduces El Grande Americano, who quickly makes his entrance. The fans greet him with a huge ovation. "Grande, Grande!" chants the audience. Original El Grande Americano is the next to appear. Querétano welcomes him with loud boos. Original El Grande Americano heads to the ring. Security prevents his nemesis from getting close to him.

Roldán takes the floor, only to be booed. Dorian states that his family has always presented great matches, with the most important and significant being the "Mask vs. Mask" one. Roldán reminds that the loser will be unmasked. With that said, he asks the protagonists to sign the contract. At that moment, Original El Grande Americano hands a letter to Roldán. It is a letter from his lawyer, who declares that AAA is an unsafe work environment for his client. That's why he will not face El Grande Americano unless a series of demands are met. Dorian continues reading the letter, which specifies that neither of the wrestlers can attack their opponent until the night of the match. Anyone who violates this condition will automatically lose their mask, as the match will be canceled. 

With this point explained, Roldán asks the wrestlers to sign the document. El Grande Americano promptly puts his signature on the contract. Once done, Dorian considers that security is no longer necessary, as both wrestlers will have to respect the agreement. Original El Grande Americano points out to Dorian that there is more to read in his lawyer's letter. Roldán continues reading the lawyer's writing, explaining that his client was attacked by Andrea Bazarte. That's why the presenter will have to be fired immediately. Otherwise, Original El Grande Americano will not compete at La Noche de Los Grandes. Bazarte can't believe what she's hearing. 

Furious, El Grande Americano confronts his enemy. "Do something about it!", shouts Original El Grande Americano. Andrea approaches El Grande Americano. He takes her hands to indicate that she doesn't have to accept this condition. However, Andrea is very clear about it. "If that's what it takes for you to RIP that phony's mask off, so be it!", exclaims the presenter. She scolds Original El Grande Americano before leaving the ring. Two officials await her to escort her backstage.

Satisfied, Original El Grande Americano signs the match contract. Original El Grande Americano throws the pen at El Grande Americano's face before leaving the ring. Enraged, El Grande Americano grabs a microphone. "CHAPARRO! You have no idea what you did, man!", he exclaims. Suddenly, The Creed Brothers appear out of nowhere to attack El Grande Americano from behind! Brutus and Julius Creed throw El Grande Americano against the table, which is left shattered. Brutus pulls out a United States flag to taunt the fans.

Los Americanos storm the ring to drive off The Creed Brothers! Bravo and Rayo help El Grande Americano to his feet. Meanwhile, a smiling Original El Grande Americano poses on the entrance ramp. Original El Grande Americano mocks the audience as the show comes to an end.
