Brody King has become the biggest anti-Trump figure in All Elite Wrestling. The former world tag team champion has publicly shown his opposition to specific measures promoted by President Donald Trump, especially his aggressive immigration policy carried out by ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), a federal agency of the Department of Homeland Security that has already arrested and deported thousands of immigrants residing in the United States.
Of course, many believe that a wrestler should not express political opinions, at least publicly. However, King will not let anyone silence him. This was his response when asked about the issue at the exclusive AEW panel at the Squared Circle Expo VI in Indianapolis.
"People want us to shut up and just wrestle, not talk about political statements. Our president is in the WWE Hall of Fame. That's all I have to say. I don't care if he wrestled or not, he can go fuck himself," said Brody.
Naturally, the wrestler also spoke about All Elite Wrestling, describing it as a different wrestling promotion for a different audience. King expressed pride in the company's work, as well as the talents contributing to its development.
"I feel that AEW now, and since its inception, has always been a different product for a different audience. Someone like Eddie (Kingston) should have been hired 20 years ago. The fact that it took him so long to appear on national television is almost criminal. But it's because he is who he is and that can't be changed," he said.
"There are many people like us who simply... are who we are. I feel that some people came to AEW thinking it would be something different and didn't last, for better or for worse. Some have succeeded, others have not. But the people who are here now want to be in AEW because they want to create the product we offer," he added.
