WWE has added a new SmackDown date to its June schedule, confirming that the O2 Arena in London will host the show on Tuesday, June 23, just one day after hosting Raw. The company did not detail how the show will be broadcast, but if it airs live outside the United States, there could be a several-day gap until its usual Friday airing time in the American market.
This SmackDown will serve as a prelude to Night of Champions, the event WWE will hold in Saudi Arabia the following weekend. Additionally, the company has also added a house show in Sheffield for Wednesday, June 24, thus closing out a double stop in London with an extra day in northern England.
With these additions, WWE's summer European tour now totals 16 events spread across the United Kingdom, Spain, Italy, France, and Portugal. Highlights include Clash in Italy in Turin on May 31, Raw in Paris on June 8, and the two consecutive dates at the O2 Arena in London on June 22 and 23.
The double booking in London reinforces WWE's commitment to the British market within a tour that combines television and large-scale live events. With so many moves in just a few weeks, the European route is shaping up to be one of the company's most intense of the year.
