Internal discussions about salary cuts in WWE seem to have affected a small group of talents, according to the latest update from Dave Meltzer. The journalist indicated that, despite rumors of a broader reduction, those with knowledge of the situation claim that fewer than six wrestlers were asked to accept a cut.

Meltzer added that these names were not among the highest on the roster and the creative team did not have big plans for them, so the idea was to keep them under contract while their in-ring activity decreased progressively. He also confirmed that at least one significant figure accepted a 50 percent cut.

The situation has become particularly sensitive due to the case of The New Day, as Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods were faced with the option of reducing their salary and continuing with a mixed role between the ring and promotion, something they ultimately rejected. According to Meltzer, the TKO plan was for both to finish their current contract with less in-ring work and more promotional duties, but they chose to leave the company.

Meltzer also emphasized that in WWE/TKO there are talents who, due to their profile, would not have much room to negotiate because outside the company they would not find salaries close to the seven digits they already receive. Therefore, economic pressure and roster reorganization seem to continue shaping the company's strategy.
