Tonight, WWE celebrated the last edition of SmackDown before their next big event, Backlash. In one of the evening's most outstanding moments, Paul Heyman revealed the favor he owed to Gunther, which was a title match against Cody Rhodes.

The tension started backstage, where Nick Aldis handed a document to Paul Heyman, who in turn passed it on to Gunther. Despite Aldis' disapproval of his recent actions, the "Ring General" confronted him, ensuring that he will be the next Undisputed WWE Champion. However, upon seeing Cody Rhodes' entrance on screen, an upset Gunther returned the document to Heyman and left the office.

Once in the ring, Cody Rhodes challenged Gunther to come out after the attack suffered last week, but it was Paul Heyman who appeared to clarify the situation. The "Wise Man" informed the champion that his title defense will not take place on American soil, but in Turin, Italy. Upon handing him the contract, Heyman revealed that this match is the favor he owed to Gunther, leaving the final decision to sign the document in Rhodes' hands to formalize the encounter.

Rhodes questioned Heyman's intentions, suggesting that he is looking for Gunther as a new client after losing his previous allies. After Paul's departure, Gunther stormed into the ring to ambush the champion, but Cody managed to fend off the assault and expel the Austrian from the ring. With the microphone in hand, Rhodes concluded the segment by stating that he is not afraid of his challenger and issued a direct warning: "I am easy to find, but hard to defeat!"
