The possibility of bringing WrestleMania to Ireland is being considered as a long-term project, not as something that will materialize in the short term. Those who support the idea believe that it would only be viable if the Irish government truly commits to the country as a venue for major sporting events.
According to recent reports from Fightful, the most likely venue to host the event is Croke Park in Dublin, a stadium with a capacity for over 80,000 spectators. However, the venue does not have a roof, so the Irish weather could become one of the main obstacles.
Another key point would be the financial aspect. Ireland would have to match, at least, the six million dollar fee that Las Vegas paid to host WrestleMania 42. Within the Irish wrestling community, some see this requirement as the biggest hurdle for the candidacy to progress.
The impact estimates, however, are very optimistic: it is estimated that a WrestleMania in Ireland could generate around 300 million euros for the country's economy. Those pushing the proposal also downplay potential local protests, which have already arisen in other major events held at Croke Park.
The idea fits within a broader strategy of WWE, which continues to move WrestleMania to different international markets and keeps the door open to new venues outside the United States. For now, Ireland appears as an ambitious option, but still far from being a closed reality.
