Throughout his legendary career, John Cena has dealt with health issues, many of them related to his work. Now, as a retired wrestler, "The Greatest of All Time" faces a new health obstacle. As he revealed in a recent interview for PEOPLE, Cena has been diagnosed with Demodex blepharitis.

This is an eye condition, caused by an infestation of microscopic parasites that live in hair follicles, affecting around 25 million Americans, according to data from the National Institutes of Health. John mentioned that his symptoms included redness and itching in the eyes, which he was able to greatly alleviate with prescribed eye drops from the ophthalmologist.

I still need my reading glasses, but I no longer have that redness or itching, and certainly don't wake up with crusts anymore

Cena hung up his boots last December to fully dedicate himself to his acting career. This hasn't stopped him from staying connected to WWE, where he served as host at the last edition of WrestleMania. He recently announced the creation of the John Cena Classic, a new event focused on exhibition matches between WWE superstars and NXT talents, where a new championship will also be at stake. The latest rumors point to December as a possible date for the show.
