The match between Sol Ruca and the Women's Intercontinental Champion, Becky Lynch, was officially confirmed for Saturday Night's Main Event during Monday's edition of WWE Raw. However, Lynch initially showed reluctance to put her title on the line until Ruca proved her worth after several losses in her ascent to the main roster from WWE NXT. Now, it seems that Becky will indeed put her title on the line, as announced by WWE on their Instagram account.
On Tuesday, WWE posted the image of the match with Becky Lynch and Sol Ruca, announcing the bout as for the Women's Intercontinental Championship. With the inclusion of this stipulation, there are now four title matches out of the five scheduled for Saturday. This match will be Sol Ruca's first opportunity for a title on the main roster since her move to the red brand after WrestleMania 42. She was previously the Women's North American Champion and Women's Speed Champion.
"@beckylynchwwe puts the #ICTitle Women's on the line this weekend at #SNME against @solrvca," read the caption of WWE's post. Despite tagging Becky Lynch in the post, "The Man" has not responded in character, although she did share the image on her Instagram stories. On Monday night, she posted on Threads and referred to herself as a "fighting champion."
The Intercontinental Champion, Penta, will also defend his title at Saturday Night's Main Event against Ethan Page. The WWE Women's Tag Team Champions, Brie Bella and Paige, will face the Irresistible Forces, and the WWE World Tag Team Champions, Logan Paul and Austin Theory, will defend their titles against the Street Profits. The only non-title match is a trios match between the WWE Women's Champion, Rhea Ripley, Charlotte Flair, and Alexa Bliss against Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab.
