WWE is celebrating a new episode of Monday Night Raw tonight, this time number 1,722, from the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio. This will be the last show of the red brand before the European tour that the company will carry out on the occasion of Clash in Italy and will be broadcast live on Netflix. Solowrestling will bring you the results in this news as every week.
Tonight's episode will feature several matches and segments of interest, highlighting a defense of the Intercontinental Championship that will face Penta against Je'Von Evans. In addition, Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu will sign the contract for their Tribal Match. As always, we invite you to comment on the article to give your opinion on what happened in the show.
WWE Raw starts on Netflix!
Paul Heyman is in charge of opening tonight's show. "Ladies and gentlemen," he says, "The Wiseman" before being booed. Paul welcomes us to Monday Night Raw and then moves on to address the topic that brought him here: the most important rematch in wrestling history. "Oooooooba, Oooooooba!" chant the fans. Heyman points out that the Nigerian will come to Clash in Italy to be conquered by "The Beast," Brock Lesnar.
Paul introduces a video. In it, Lesnar addresses "The Ruler." "The Beast" acknowledges that Femi kicked his butt at WrestleMania 42. The severity of his defeat led him to decide to end his career. However, he eventually realized that it couldn't end like that. "It's not going to end that way, Oba Femi. Brock Lesnar can take a beating. But can you?", asks "The Beast." He assures that a "wounded" and "retired" beast will kick butt and conquer Oba Femi. "I will reign over Oba Femi", he promises to end his promo.
Heyman speaks again. "The good news is that everyone watching will have a chance this Sunday to see history happen in real time right before their eyes. The bad news for all those who adore Oba Femi, is that Oba Femi has awakened The Beast! Oba Femi HAS AWAKENED The Beast. Oba Femi has awakened The Beast Brock Lesnar. And that means one thing..."
Oba Femi interrupts the promo!
"Ooooooooba, Oooooooooba!" chant the fans as the Nigerian heads to the ring. "The Ruler" approaches a fearful Heyman, who retreats to one of the corners. Femi takes a microphone to get even closer to "The Wiseman." He ends up cornered in the corner. "You say I've awakened The Beast. Well, what do you think he's awakened in me? What do you think four F-5s have awakened in Oba Femi?", asks "The Ruler."
Paul pleads with him not to harm him. Oba assures him that he shouldn't fear anything, because he will play an important role in this story. A story in which Brock Lesnar will be retired for the second and final time. Femi shows the contract for his match at Clash in Italy, which he signs over Heyman's shoulder. Femi ends his promo by asking Paul to deliver a message to his client. "Tell him that the last time I fought to beat him. This time I fight to kill him", says Oba before heading backstage.
We see a video summary of WWE Saturday Night's Main Event.
We see the arrival of some of tonight's protagonists at the venue: Roman Reigns (who rejects a birthday gift by throwing it in the air), Jacob Fatu, Rey Mysterio, and The Judgment Day in full.
Intercontinental Championship Match
Penta (c) vs. Je'Von Evans
Penta and Je'Von fist bump as a sign of respect. Evans tries to surprise Penta with a quick OG Cutter, but the champion blocks it. Both men start a quick exchange of attacks to gauge their strengths. Je'Von and Penta show mutual respect again. This time, they even pose with the classic Penta Walk. Suddenly, the challenger surprises his opponent with an unexpected dropkick. Evans applies a hurricanrana to the Mexican to throw him out of the ring. After that, he dives with a suicide dive.
Je'Von brings Penta back into the ring. Evans launches a springboard clothesline, but the champion receives it with a superkick. Je'Von ends up in one of the corners, where Penta applies a Pendulum to him. 1..2..NO. Evans surprises Penta with a handspring enzuigiri. The Mexican ends up at ringside. Je'Von dives with a suicide dive. Penta dodges it, causing his opponent's back to hit the edge of the commentator's table. Evans writhes in pain as the referee checks on him. This leads us to a new commercial break.
Je'Von regains control during the commercial break, first by launching himself with a tope over the audience barrier and then finishing off the champion with a springboard crossbodychop to Evans. The masked man challenges his opponent to return the blow. Je'Von takes distance, only to surprise his rival with a running knee strike! Evans finishes him off with a springboard cutter. 1..2..NO.
Evans uses the ropes to prepare his next attack, but Penta blocks it to execute a backstabber. 1..2..NO. The action moves to the apron area, where Je'Von performs a spectacular OG Cutter! Both men are left lying on the ground. Evans brings the champion back into the ring to cover him. 1..2..NO.
The action doesn't stop. Penta blocks a new cutter to respond with a Penta Driver. 1..2..NO. The Mexican seeks height in one of the corners. A recovered Evans runs towards him to execute a hurricanrana. Evans dives with an OG Cutter, but Penta receives it with a superkick. Now it's Je'Von who interrupts a Mexican Destroyer with a running kick. Penta blocks an OG Cutter with a backstabber to finish off his rival with a definitive Mexican Destroyer. 1..2..3.
Winner and STILL Intercontinental Champion: Penta
Penta raises Je'Von's arm as a sign of respect, but he quickly moves away to return backstage, turning his back on the champion.
We move to one of the dressing rooms, where Paul Heyman carefully reviews the contract signed by Oba Femi. Austin Theory approaches him with the goal of delivering the World Tag Team Championship. "The Wiseman" asks him why he would do such a thing. Theory points out that Logan Paul will be out of action for a while due to an injury. That's why he understands that he can't continue to be a champion. Heyman reminds his partner that the contracts for title defenses bear the name of "The Vision." That means that any member of the faction can carry the gold. And now that "The Maverick" is unavailable, Bron Breakker can take that place. Heyman hopes that both will defend the championships with the honor and dignity that the faction deserves. A relieved Theory hugs Paul to thank him for this. "I did it for you. Because I believe in you. Because I wanted this for you," says "The Wiseman." Austin points out that he has a goal, which is to get revenge on all those responsible for his partner's injury. "I'm glad you feel that way because I think now you know what you have to do tonight. And most importantly: who", says Heyman before leaving. Austin smiles as the segment comes to an end.
We return from a commercial break to see Joe Hendry singing his hit "Can We Fire Logan Paul?" in the center of the ring. Suddenly, a furious Austin Theory storms into the ring to unleash a rain of chair shots on the Scotsman! Once satisfied, Austin heads back to backstage. Suddenly, he turns towards his victim to deliver one last chair shot. The chair hits Hendry's head, leaving him unconscious on the canvas. Several officials rush to the ring to assist the Scotsman. Jason Jordan orders Theory to return backstage, but the tag team world champion just watches Joe. This leads to the end of this segment.
Seth Rollins approaches Angelo Dawkins backstage. "The Visionary" points out that he did exactly what Montez Ford wanted. He didn't interfere in his title match last Saturday. However, he regrets that they couldn't win and that, once again, The Vision screwed them over. But now that Logan Paul is injured, it's the perfect opportunity to attack the faction. And they must do it because even weakened, its members are still very dangerous, as Austin Theory has shown tonight. "I've never seen that side of Theory. If we unite, we can end The Vision once and for all", says Seth. Montez Ford appears on the scene. He asks his partner how long he will continue to listen to Rollins. "The Visionary" asks Montez to say to his face what he has to say. Ford insists that dealing with Seth never brings anything good. "It seems like nothing good happens when I'm not around. Otherwise, you two would be here now as Tag Team Champions", says Rollins. He insists that they don't have to be friends. They don't even have to like each other. All they have to do is work together to end The Vision. Rollins understands why Ford doesn't trust him, but he must consider one thing. "Only one of us in this circle has headlined WrestleMania. Only one of us in this circle has been a multiple-time world champion. And that's not you", says Seth. "You know what, Seth? One thing I've never done is stab my brother in the back. Because I'm my brother's keeper. By the way, where are your brothers?", Montez asks. With that said, he challenges him to face him tonight to show the city of Columbus who is the better of the two. Seth accepts the challenge, promising to make him see reason with punches. After that, he heads to the locker room to change. Ford leaves to do the same, leaving Angelo behind.
We see a promotional video before AAA Night of the Greats.
Penta approaches Je'Von Evans backstage. He apologizes for what happened tonight, claiming he felt frustrated after his defeat. "It wasn't professional on my part, okay? I apologize", says Je'Von. The Mexican accepts the apologies, pointing out that everything is fine between them. Evans promises the masked man that they will meet again in the ring with the Intercontinental Championship at stake. "No problem. Let's do it," replies Penta. Both fist bump. Je'Von continues on his way. Rey Mysterio approaches Penta to congratulate him on his victory tonight and for proudly holding the title. Penta also wants to congratulate the WWE Hall of Famer on his recent appointment as AAA General Manager. That said, he wants to talk to him about something. "I want to be a fighting champion. I want to leave a legacy. And there's no one I'd rather face than Rey Mysterio", he says. Mysterio assures him that it would be an honor to compete against him. Penta points out that he will go talk to Adam Pearce to discuss the idea because a match between them for the Intercontinental Championship would be legendary. Penta shakes Rey's hand before leaving.
Tag Team Match
Bayley and Lyra Valkyria vs. The Judgment Day (Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez) (with Liv Morgan and Dominik Mysterio)
Perez and Rodriguez attack their opponents while they pose for the fans. The referee orders them to stop, a moment that Bayley and Lyra take advantage of to launch a counterattack. Bayley and Raquel roll to ringside, leaving Roxanne and Valkyria exchanging blows inside the ring. The official gives the order for the bell to ring.
Lyra and Bayley take turns hitting Perez. She slaps Valkyria before giving the tag to Raquel. Lyra jumps on Rodriguez's back. She backs up towards her opponents' corner, where Bayley takes the tag. "The Role Model" and Lyra team up against Raquel, but she ends up knocking them down with a double clothesline. Rodriguez crushes Valkyria in one of the corners before raining down elbows on the Irishwoman. Lyra manages to escape her opponent's clutches to respond with a dropkick. Raquel quickly recovers.
Rodriguez focuses her punishment on Valkyria's left arm. Raquel drops her onto one of the corners before continuing her assault. Rodriguez crushes Lyra with a leg, forcing the referee to intervene. Roxy takes advantage of the situation to stomp on Valkyria's injured arm. Raquel returns to her rival to crush her with a twisting elbowdrop. This leads us to a new commercial break.
Returning, we see Lyra throwing Rodriguez out of the ring. She quickly grabs the Irishwoman's legs to pull her out of the ring. Raquel is about to throw her against one of the posts, but it's the Texan who ends up hitting the post. Valkyria escapes from Roxanne to give the tag to Bayley, who enters with full force. "The Role Model" blocks a Pop Rox from Perez to respond with a sunset flip powerbomb on one of the corners. After that, she tags Lyra to execute a combo samoan drop + neckbreaker. Valkyria covers her. 1..2..NO. Liv places one of Roxanne's legs on the bottom rope to interrupt the count.
The referee, who has seen what happened, ejects Morgan from ringside. The World Champion starts arguing with the official. Furious, Bayley makes her fall off the apron to hit her. Raquel quickly comes to her partner's aid to knock down "The Role Model." Lyra jumps on Rodriguez. After that, she returns to the ring to continue the fight with Perez.
Liv leaves backstage, but not before giving instructions to Dominik. He distracts the referee so Raquel can push Bayley from her corner. Roxanne takes advantage to surprise her with a Pop Rox. 1..2..NO. Valkyria interrupts the count. Raquel tries to apply a powerbomb to the Irishwoman, but she uses the strength of her legs to throw her rival out of the ring. Both women end up at ringside. Mysterio introduces his AAA Megachampionship into the ring before climbing onto the apron to distract the referee. Roxanne and Bayley fight for the belt. Perez ends up winning the struggle, but accidentally hits her partner. "The Role Model" takes advantage to cover Roxanne with a roll-up. 1..2..3.
Winners: Bayley and Lyra Valkyria
Adam Pearce speaks with Roman Reigns in his private locker room. The General Manager insists that Jacob Fatu should be fired for his actions. Reigns understands, but he must show his power. Otherwise, "The Samoan Werewolf" will keep pulling aces out of his sleeve to do whatever he wants. Besides, as "The Tribal Chief," he cannot refuse a Tribal Combat match. Once Jacob signs the contract for the match, there will only be two possible outcomes: if Roman wins, Fatu will have to acknowledge him as his Tribal Chief. If Jacob wins, everyone loses.
We see a video about Memorial Day narrated by Cody Rhodes.
LA Knight makes his entrance. The fans greet him with a huge ovation. "The Megastar" heads into the ring, where he grabs a microphone. LA Knight acknowledges that it has been a long time since he stood in this ring, specifically since WrestleMania night. However, before continuing, he wants to wish everyone a happy Memorial Day, especially the soldiers who provide this great service to the country. "¡USA, USA!" the fans chant.
LA Knight recalls that match at WrestleMania, where he believed he had left his story with "The Vision" behind him. And who was by his side? The Usos. However, they have started acting differently since the grand event, which has led him to think about next week, when the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments begin. "The Megastar" makes it clear that he intends to compete in the men's tournament. And once he wins that crown, he will earn a shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. "I'm aiming at Roman Reigns," he says. This leads him to wonder where that leaves The Usos, because their cousin is the most "corrupt" champion he has ever seen. A man trying to revive the old Bloodline, doing things a bit differently from the Jey and Jimmy Uso he knows.
Jimmy Uso interrupts the promo!
Jimmy enters the ring and stands face-to-face with LA Knight. Jimmy assures him that he has a great deal of respect for him, which is why he fought alongside him at WrestleMania 42. He also understands why many people are worried about The Bloodline after everything that happened in the past. And to be honest, Jimmy also has no problem with "The Megastar" entering the King of the Ring tournament, because a victory would earn him a fair opportunity at the World Heavyweight Championship.
"The Megastar" has heard the words "fair" and "honesty," which makes him wonder if Jimmy is being honest, especially with himself. LA Knight recalls what happened last week, when Jey came out armed with a steel chair to attack Jacob Fatu while Jimmy tried to resolve the conflict without fighting. This leads him to believe that Jimmy is nothing more than a messenger for Roman Reigns. Someone relegated to the background behind "The OTC" and his brother Jey. "The last thing I want to see is you turning into Roman Reigns' errand boy again. I say that with all due respect. You need to learn from the past. Take this as a warning, because..." he says before being interrupted by Jimmy.
The Samoan has had enough, pointing out that "The Megastar" should be grateful that his brother is not here tonight, because otherwise he would not be talking to him right now. LA Knight imagines that, in that case, The Usos would gang up on him, soon joined by Roman Reigns. Just like they did with Jacob Fatu. Jimmy insists that this is a family matter that has absolutely nothing to do with LA Knight. However, if he does not stop sticking his nose into their business, his family will become a problem for him. Jimmy prepares to leave, but LA Knight stops him.
"The Megastar" assures him that he likes both him and his brother. But he cannot say the same about Roman. He has never liked him and never will. Besides, Reigns came back to The Usos because he needed them, because he cannot get the job done on his own. LA Knight does not want to fight Jey and Jimmy; he does not want it to come to that. But if necessary, he will. "Take this message to your boy Roman, and make sure you spell my name right. L-A-Knight. YEAH!" says "The Megastar." He then throws the microphone onto the mat and heads backstage. And so this segment comes to an end.
Adam Pearce and Rey Mysterio are talking backstage. The General Manager tells the masked superstar that Penta suggested arranging a title match. An idea he finds very interesting. Ethan Page interrupts the conversation to voice his disagreement with Pearce. After all, he gave Je'Von Evans a title opportunity tonight, and now he is about to give Rey another one. "Where's my rematch?" asks "All Ego." Adam points out that rematches have to be earned. Page asks what Mysterio has done to earn his opportunity. Pearce reminds him that they are talking about a WWE Hall of Famer. Rusev appears on the scene and asks what is going on. Ethan replies that Rey and Pearce, both General Managers, are conspiring against the Bulgarian so Mysterio can skip the line and receive an opportunity for the Intercontinental Championship. Rusev asks Adam what Rey has done to deserve this opportunity. Ethan believes the masked superstar should earn it fairly. Mysterio ends the discussion by pointing out that he has no problem defeating the Bulgarian to earn that opportunity. Adam makes it official. Rusev promises he will destroy the Mexican tonight. With that said, he leaves the area. Page quickly follows him. And so this segment comes to an end.
Montez Ford vs. Seth Rollins
Seth stands face-to-face with Montez while the crowd sings the former's song. Both men lock up. Ford backs Rollins into one of the corners. The referee orders Montez to step away from "The Visionary." Annoyed, he responds with a shove. The action continues, with Seth knocking Ford down with a shoulder tackle. Montez responds in kind.
Rollins kicks Montez, sending him out of the ring. Seth launches himself with a suicide dive. Rollins returns, ready to repeat the move, but Ford surprises him with a clothesline. Now it is Montez who dives with a suicide dive. The action returns to the ring, where both men take each other down simultaneously with a crossbody.
The action spills to ringside. Rollins drops Montez onto the barricade before executing a diving knee strike to the back of his neck. "The Visionary" brings Ford back into the ring. Montez escapes Rollins' grasp to strike him with a Penalty Kick. After that, he lands a splash. 1..2..NO. Seth and Montez exchange strikes in the center of the ring.
Ford blocks a pedigree, only to receive a right hand straight to the face. Montez surprises his opponent with a clothesline. Ford hits a standing moonsault, but his rival dodges it. Montez climbs to the top turnbuckle, ready for his next attack. Rollins goes after him to execute a superplex + Falcon Arrow combo. 1..2..NO. "This is awesome!" the fans chant.
Rollins and Montez exchange roll-ups and superkicks. The sequence ends with the former catching his opponent with a pedigree. 1..2..NO. "It doesn't have to be this way, Tez. Let's work together. We don't have to fight each other, man. We want the same thing. You don't have to come at me like that. I know I have a problem. I'm trying to change, brother," says Rollins. Montez responds with a slap. Furious, "The Visionary" grabs his rival to deliver two Buckle Bombs.
Rollins prepares to repeat the move, but this time Ford counters with a hurricanrana. Seth lands at ringside. Montez launches himself with a tope over one of the ring posts to crash onto his opponent. Ford brings him back into the ring to finish him with a From the Heavens. 1..2..NO. "This is awesome!" the fans chant. The action continues. Montez surprises Seth with an enzuigiri on the apron. After that, he goes for a 450 Splash. "The Visionary" moves out of the way just in time, causing his opponent to crash face-first onto the mat. A stomp puts an end to the match. 1..2..3.
Winner: Seth Rollins
We see Austin Theory attacking Angelo Dawkins with a steel chair on the entrance ramp. Theory delivers a chair shot straight to Dawkins’ head, leaving him unconscious on the floor. Several officials rush to the scene to check on Angelo. Meanwhile, an exhausted Ford watches the scene while lying on the mat. A furious Adam Pearce appears and orders Theory to head back to backstage.
Byron Saxton interviews Bayley and Lyra Valkyria in the crowd area. Bayley feels great after their victory over The Judgment Day tonight. "The Role Model" recalls that their opponents are experts at cheating, but it does not matter. In fact, nothing matters anymore except the fact that she and Lyra have spent the last year proving that they are the best team in the division. Valkyria makes it clear that their goal remains Paige, Brie Bella, and the Women’s Tag Team Championships, and they will not rest until they achieve it. Saxton asks them about the Queen of the Ring tournament. Lyra recalls that she came close to winning it two years ago. Bayley, meanwhile, has never participated, but neither of them fears anything, so they can throw whatever they want at them.
Montez Ford speaks with Adam Pearce backstage. Ford wants to know how Angelo Dawkins is doing after being attacked while he was not by his side. Seth Rollins approaches them to ask about Angelo. Pearce informs him that the medical team is with him right now. "Look, man, you’re right. We’ve got more important things to deal with. Bigger things are happening right now. My brother is down and he needs somebody. He needs us," says Montez. "Us?" asks Seth. "Us," Ford repeats before entering the medical room. Rollins then turns to Pearce. "This has to end, man. It has to end. I’ve got to cut the head off the snake. I want Bron Breakker. And I want him as soon as you can make it happen," says Seth. "Let me talk to Heyman," replies the General Manager before walking away.
Cathy Kelley interviews Becky Lynch backstage. Kelley recalls that Sol Ruca is not present tonight due to the injuries she suffered last weekend, leaving her title match at WWE Clash in Italy in doubt. "You know what, Cathy? Some people get punched in the face and become the face of the company, and then there are others who get punched in the face and get a reality check," says the Irishwoman. That is exactly what happened to Ruca when she stepped into the ring with the greatest of all time at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Lynch reminds everyone that Sol has not won a single match since arriving on Raw. Her legacy is written in beach sand, and any wave can wash it away. Becky’s, however, is written in History, and always will be. "I hope Sol shows up at Clash in Italy, because The Man will be there. There’s a big difference between aspiring to excellence and standing across from it. Welcome to the Big Time," says the Irishwoman to end the interview.
Rey Mysterio vs. Rusev
Rusev stands face-to-face with Rey, who immediately shoves him. The Bulgarian knocks the masked wrestler down. Mysterio strikes his opponent in the back. Rusev tries to catch him, but the Mexican is too quick. Rey surprises Rusev with a hurricanrana before attempting a 619, but the Bulgarian stops him with a back elbow. Rusev continues his assault with several suplexes. Rey sends Rusev out of the ring before diving onto him with a sunset flip powerbomb against the barricade.
Rey climbs onto the apron and launches himself with a back senton, but the Bulgarian catches him in mid-air and hurls the masked wrestler into the barricade. Rusev shoves his opponent into the steel steps. The Bulgarian brings Mysterio back into the ring, where he attempts to rip off his mask. Rey avoids a charge from his opponent in the corner. Mysterio looks to go high-risk, but his opponent quickly knocks him down.
Rusev throws the Mexican into the opposite corner, crushing him with a corner splash. Rusev punishes Rey using the ropes. The action moves to the top turnbuckle. Mysterio knocks Rusev down before launching an attack. Rey unloads a flurry of punches on his rival in the opposite corner. Mysterio avoids a back senton and counters with a springboard moonsault. 1..2..NO.
Rey surprises Rusev with a bulldog, only to receive an uranage in response. The Bulgarian follows up with a Machka Kick. 1..2..NO. Rusev prepares to apply the Accolade, but Mysterio slips through his legs. Rey trips his opponent so he falls onto the second rope. Rusev blocks the follow-up 619 and prepares to lock in the Accolade, but the Mexican counters with a roll-up. 1..2..3.
Winner: Rey Mysterio
Rusev attacks Rey after the match. Ethan Page, who has been watching from the commentary table, encourages the Bulgarian to kick the masked wrestler’s ass. Suddenly, Dragon Lee rushes to the ring to save Mysterio! "All Ego" decides to intervene, but he is immediately caught with an enzuigiri. Dragon dives onto Page with a hurricanrana, causing "All Ego" to crash into Rusev. Lee follows up with a german suplex and a superkick, sending Ethan to ringside. Rusev tries to attack him from behind, but Dragon escapes his grasp and knocks him down with a big boot. Lee dives onto Page with a tope before returning to the ring. Mysterio hits Rusev with a 619, allowing Lee to finish him off with an Operation Dragon. The masked wrestlers celebrate in the ring as the segment comes to an end.
Adam Pearce confronts Austin Theory backstage. The General Manager believes Austin has had enough for one night and throws him out of the building. Theory disagrees. Austin makes it clear that he has not had enough. Not until everyone responsible pays for what happened to Logan Paul. Paul Heyman appears on the scene to calm things down. "The Wiseman" claims to agree with Pearce and says he will personally reprimand his associate. Heyman takes Theory away from the area. Paul begins “scolding” his partner, but once they are far enough away, "The Wiseman" proudly praises him. "You did very well tonight. Forget about that idiot," he says. Suddenly, they run into the entire Alpha Academy (Akira Tozawa, Otis, and Maxxine Dupri). Theory and Maxxine exchange smiles. Austin and Heyman continue on their way. "I don’t know, guys. This smells like bad news," says Otis. "No. He just has a lot on his plate. Give him a break," Maxxine tells her partner before walking away. "What was that?" asks a surprised Tozawa to Otis. And so this segment comes to an end.
We see Adam Pearce in the ring alongside a table and two chairs. The General Manager is holding the contract for the Tribal Combat match set to take place at WWE Clash in Italy. Jacob Fatu is the first to make his entrance. "The Samoan Werewolf" walks past several security guards before entering the ring. Pearce shows him the contract, reminding him that it must be signed by two people for the match to become official. Fatu wastes no time signing it. Afterward, he grabs one of the chairs and throws it at the security guards. Jacob then hurls the second chair, followed by the table. The security team enters the ring to calm Fatu down just as Roman Reigns makes his entrance.
"The OTC" heads to the ring while the security guards remain firmly positioned between him and Jacob. Reigns picks up the contract. The World Heavyweight Champion stares at Fatu before signing the document. He then hands it back to Pearce, who gives him a microphone. Pearce retrieves the contract before handing another microphone to the champion. "Roman, Roman Reigns!" the fans chant. "Leave us," orders Roman. Pearce advises Reigns to allow security to stay in the ring to prevent things from getting out of control. "He signed the contract. He made a sacred oath. He can’t touch me until Italy. Leave NOW," Reigns insists. Adam complies with the champion’s request, and both he and the security guards leave the ring.
"Columbus, Ohio. Acknowledge me!" exclaims Reigns. "OTC, OTC," chant the fans. Roman wants Jacob to listen carefully. This is what he should have done after losing at Backlash: acknowledge his Tribal Chief and move on. "Acknowledge you? Like everyone else here? Absolutely not," replies "The Samoan Werewolf." He makes it clear that he is not like everyone else. However, he admits that Roman is the reason the Samoan family reached the top. Still, "The OTC" can no longer carry them forward. "It’s time for change. It’s time to go in another direction. Damn it, it’s time to head toward another destiny," he says. Furthermore, Roman talks a lot about acknowledgment, honor, respect, and following The Bloodline code, but at Backlash he broke his own rules to defeat him. However, that will not happen again in Italy, because in a Tribal Combat match, anything goes. And when he destroys him on Sunday, there will be consequences.
Reigns interrupts Jacob to talk about consequences. "I’m a man of my word. Jacob. If you defeat me, you will become The Head of the Table. You’ll be the one making decisions. You’ll lead, and I’ll follow you. But if you can’t beat me, you will serve me. You will learn from me, and when the time comes, Jacob, you will love your Tribal Chief," says Roman. "Good. Then it sounds like a win-win for me, huh Roman? If you beat me, it sounds like I’ll still have a job here. Nothing changes. But with me, it’s not an ‘if,’ it’s a ‘when.’ Because when I beat you, everyone, and especially you, will learn to ACKNOWLEDGE ME. Yadadamean?" says Jacob before throwing the microphone onto the mat. Fatu extends his hand toward Roman. Reigns tosses aside his own microphone before shaking his cousin’s hand. The two men then press their foreheads together in a solemn gesture as the show comes to an end.
