Lucha Libre AAA and FOX bring us tonight the first day of Noche de los Grandes, which will take place at the Arena Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico. The show presents a card full of great matches, including several title defenses.
The main event is reserved for one of the most anticipated matches of the year, a "mask vs. mask" match that will put an end to the intense rivalry between El Grande Americano and Original El Grande Americano. As always, we invite you to leave your comments on what happens in the show.

We see the arrival at the venue of some of tonight's protagonists: Rey Fenix, Laredo Kid, El Ojo Que Todo lo Ve (Dorian Roldán, El hijo del Vikingo and Omos), Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. (with Galeno), Original El Grande Americano and El Grande Americano.
AAA Cruiserweight Championship Match
Laredo Kid (c) vs. Rey Fenix
Rey surprises Laredo with a dropkick as soon as the bell rings. Fenix continues his assault until catching the champion aiming to execute a Mexican Muscle Buster. Kid escapes from his opponent's clutches, who quickly surprises him with a Tightrope Penalty Kick. Laredo falls to his knees on the canvas. The referee approaches to check on his condition, but Rey has no intention of falling into the same trap as last time. That's why he pushes the official aside to run towards Laredo, but he stops him with a sudden powerbomb. 1..2..NO.
The action continues. Kid applies a Michinoku Driver on Rey. 1..2..NO. "Let's go, Fenix!" chants the audience. Laredo applies a modified Boston Crab to Fenix, who has to crawl to the ropes to force the release. Kid kicks his rival before removing one of the turnbuckle pads. Laredo approaches Rey, who greets him with a chop. Kid dodges a charge from Fenix in one of the corners, causing him to impact against it. Laredo climbs to the second rope to apply a new Boston Crab, this time reinforced with the help of the ropes. Laredo smashes Rey's head against the canvas. 1..2..NO. "Let's go, Fenix!" chant the fans.
Kid taunts his opponent. Suddenly, the champion seems upset, but quickly regains composure to run towards his rival. However, he is stopped by several clotheslines. The champion ends up at ringside. Rey jumps on him with a diving crossbody. Fenix takes his opponent back into the ring to launch himself with a frog splash. 1..2..NO. Rey tries to catch Laredo in an armbar, but his rival stretches his legs to reach the ropes. Rey and Laredo exchange chops in the center of the ring. Kid performs a tornado DDT on Rey, who immediately gets back on his feet! Fenix surprises Laredo with a rebound spinning kick, only for the champion to respond with a Destroyer out of nowhere. Both are left lying on the canvas.
The action resumes. Rey blocks a low blow from the champion. Fenix crushes the champion in one of the corners before finishing him off with a rolling cutter. 1..2..NO. Rey readies his leg to execute a superkick. 1..2..NO. Fenix takes Laredo to one of the corners to hoist him on his shoulders, ready to execute a Mexican Muscle Buster, but the champion manages to escape his clutches. Kid returns to the corner, where he takes a few seconds to mock his opponent with the "Cero Miedo" gesture. A valuable time that Rey takes advantage of to surprise him and execute - now - a Mexican Muscle Buster. 1..2..NO. "This is wrestling!" chants the audience.

The masked man unleashes a rain of chair shots on Omos, who ends up on his knees on the ground. El Hijo del Vikingo kicks Galeno. Furious, he prepares to enter the ring, but the referee stops him. Suddenly, Mini Vikingo appears on one of the corners to surprise El Hijo del Vikingo with a Missile Dropkick. Ivar returns, only to be kicked by Psycho Clown. He continues his assault on Erik. However, the champion gets distracted by Ivar, allowing Erik to hit him from behind. Psycho Clown ends up at ringside, where Ivar crushes him with a diving splash.
Back in the ring, the challengers continue to punish Psycho Clown. Erik kicks Psycho Clown's head, catching him in a headlock. Psycho Clown tries to reach his corner, but Erik prevents it. Erik delivers a knee strike directly to Psycho Clown's face for Ivar to cover him. 1..2..NO. Ivar unleashes a flurry of elbows on Psycho Clown in one of the corners. The fans boo the challenger. Pagano helps Psycho Clown to his feet, but his partner is furious about what happened. Both men argue and push each other. Suddenly, Psycho Clown tears off his outer mask to reveal his most terrifying side. However, Pagano decides to turn his back to avoid a physical confrontation with his partner. Pagano exits the ring, ready to return backstage. Suddenly, The War Raiders launch an assault on Psycho Clown. Pagano turns to see what is happening on the canvas. However, he decides to continue his way back to backstage, leaving his partner at the mercy of the new champions. They pose over their victim to end the segment.
Rey Mysterio makes his entrance to witness the night's main event.

Original El Grande Americano makes his entrance, only to receive a loud booing. "Culero! Culero!" chant the fans. Original El Grande Americano confronts several fans. He even tries to snatch a mask from El Grande Americano from one of the spectators, who protects it fiercely.
El Grande Americano is the next to appear on the scene. A group of mariachis performs "Cielito Lindo" to welcome him. The audience cheers for their hero. "Grande! Grande!" chants the Arena Monterrey as El Grande Americano heads to the ring. El Grande Americano basks in the crowd's adoration before entering the ring.

Original El Grande Americano smashes a mariachi's guitar over his nemesis' head during his entrance. Original El Grande Americano continues to attack his rival with the match already underway. El Grande Americano and Original El Grande Americano exchange attacks. The action moves to the top of one of the corners. El Grande Americano catches Original El Grande Americano to execute a Vertical Suplex. The fans go wild. Original El Grande Americano takes his opponent to the apron, where he delivers a clothesline. El Grande Americano dodges a charge from Original El Grande Americano to throw him against one of the posts.
El Grande Americano jumps with a suicide dive to continue his offense, but his opponent quickly knocks him down with a body drop. Bruto and Julio attack El Grande Americano at ringside. Julio throws El Grande Americano onto the commentator's table, which ends up shattered. After that, they bring him back inside the ring, where Original El Grande Americano finishes him off with a diving headbutt. 1..2..NO.
Los Americanos show up to attack Los Americanos Hermanos!
Rayo unleashes a flurry of blows on Bruto and Julio before Bravo dives onto them with a diving crossbody from the top of the stands. "This is wrestling!", chant the fans. Something catches Original El Grande Americano's attention. He gets off the ring to approach the audience barrier, where Ojitos de Huevo is. This time, the comedian defends himself from Original El Grande Americano with a cane. El Grande Americano lunges at his enemy. "Ojitos, Ojitos!", chant the fans.
Original El Grande Americano kicks El Grande Americano before he can get back into the ring. Suddenly, he turns around to face a masked mariachi, who smashes a guitar on his head! The mariachi reveals his face... It's Pimpinela Escarlata! El Grande Americano returns to the ring to execute a flying headbutt on Original El Grande Americano. 1..2...NO! "This is wrestling!", chant the fans.
El Grande Americano gets off the ring to pick up "La reata" from Texano Jr. However, when he returns to the ring to use it against Original El Grande Americano, he is surprised with a low blow. Original El Grande Americano uses the rope to punish El Grande Americano. Original El Grande Americano finishes him off with a stomp. 1..2..NO. Furious, Original El Grande Americano applies a crossface with the help of "la reata" in the ropes area.

Original El Grande Americano reverses it back into an Ankle Lock, this time on the mat. The fans cheer on El Grande Americano, who seems about to surrender. "Yes, it was possible!" chant the fans as El Grande Americano embraces Pimpinela Escarlata. Bazarte and Los Americanso join El Grande Americano to celebrate in the ring.
And the time has come to unmask Original El Grande Americano. However, before that, he wants to say a few words. "I put on this mask to embark on a mission to learn the art of wrestling in order to defeat all the wrestlers in the world that I hated, hated, HATED", he exclaims. "And in the process of that journey, I learned what wrestling is about, Mexico, AAA, the people, and the Mexican culture. I have to admit that today I stand here, in front of all of you, not as a mask, but as a man. And today I have to acknowledge that I cannot overcome that Mexican spirit," he says. "My name is Chad Gable," says a bloodied Gable in Spanish before sharing his personal details, such as his date and place of birth, his past as an Olympic wrestler, and his career in WWE. After that, Chad introduces his wife and children to the fans. "Gable! Gable!" chant the audience. "Remember my words. I don't know when or how, but Chad Gable WILL RETURN to AAA", he promises. Gable hands his mask to El Grande Americano. "From now on, this is yours," he says. "Thank you, Gable!" chant the fans to bid farewell to Chad. El Grande Americano celebrates in the center of the ring while Gable and his family head backstage.
The fans sing "Cielito Lindo." El Grande Americano embraces Andrea. After kissing her, El Grande Americano thanks the audience from one of the corners. El Grande Americano gets off the ring. Limping and with his opponent's mask in his hand, El Grande Americano heads towards the top of the entrance ramp, where he poses one last time. And thus, we reach the end of the first night of the Noche de los Grandes.
