Alba Fyre could already have her first move lined up after leaving WWE, and all signs point to Kay Lee Ray returning sooner than expected. Pro Wrestling EVE began promoting a mysterious match for Molly Spartan at their event History Makers / Rule Breakers, which will take place on Friday, June 5 in London.
The promotion did not directly name Fyre, but did describe the secret opponent as a former WWE tag team champion, former Pro Wrestling EVE champion, and a very dangerous competitor. The language used by the company, including the reference to a "KiLleR" in the ring, has further fueled speculation.
The mystery comes right after Fyre's departure from WWE, confirmed alongside Nikki Cross and Zoey Stark in the latest roster cuts. Instead of saying goodbye with a conventional message, Fyre left a phrase that immediately brought to mind her former identity: "Kay Lee Ray would beat up Alba Fyre... I'm just saying...".
That comment carried weight because Kay Lee Ray was the name she used before WWE renamed her Alba Fyre. Under that identity, she became one of the most dominant figures in NXT UK and held the NXT UK Women's Championship for over a year.
If EVE's teaser is confirmed, the return to the British independent scene would be quick and very symbolic. Kay Lee Ray would return to the environment that helped build her reputation and she would do so with a presentation that is already generating a lot of anticipation.
