Live Report of WWE SmackDown June 5, 2026

WWE SmackDown starts on Netflix!

The show begins with a video recap of WWE Clash in Italy.

We see the arrival of some of tonight's protagonists at the venue: The Judgment Day in full, Bron Breakker, Trick Williams, Kiana James, Bayley, and Fatal Influence in full.

A furious Gunther interrupts Michael Cole and Wade Barrett's presentation. After destroying the commentary table set, the Austrian climbs on it to claim what he deserves. Gunther asserts that Cody Rhodes covered him for the victory when his leg was clearly under the bottom rope. A trap that benefited the "golden boy" of WWE. However, he is not willing to let it end like this.

Cody Rhodes makes his entrance!

Gunther confronts Rhodes as he enters the ring. "Gunther, you're right," says the Undisputed WWE Champion. Cody insists that the Austrian is right, but as a veteran in this business, he should know that the hero doesn't always win. That said, he points out that he just needs to make a call to repeat the match later tonight.

Sami Zayn interrupts the segment!

The Canadian thanks all his fans in Italy, those who show him the respect he deserves. "Sami! Sami!" chants the crowd. Zayn assures that he has tried by all means not to come out, but he couldn't help it. Gunther is here complaining about losing by cheating (something he knows very well) and Cody, of course, is ready to fight.

Gunther tells Sami to be quiet. He reminds him that he has already beaten him before for a championship. Rhodes wonders which version of Sami Zayn is here tonight. Cody is convinced that Sami is a good guy, but tonight he is busy. Zayn believes that Cody should stop looking for his next big threat for the WWE Championship because maybe that threat is right in front of him. Furthermore, Rhodes promised him that he would teach him a lesson when he finished with Gunther. And since he defeated him at Clash in Italy, maybe it's time to receive that lesson.

Tired of waiting, Gunther attacks Rhodes from behind before trapping him in a sleeper hold. Sami comes to Cody's rescue but ends up being expelled from the ring by the Austrian. Rhodes throws Gunther over the third rope before performing a suicide dive, but the Austrian moves just in time for the impact to hit Zayn. Gunther leaves satisfied as Cody tries to help Sami to his feet. Zayn turns his back on the champion to return backstage.

We see The Miz talking to Kit Wilson via video call. The Miz doesn't understand why the Brit still can't enter any European country. Suddenly, The Miz notices several cables on the floor. He quickly realizes that Danhausen is behind it. The Miz follows the cables to reach his enemy's lab, which he doesn't hesitate to sabotage. Danhausen asks him to stop, but The Miz ignores him. Suddenly, The Miz pulls a cable that ends up electrocuting him. Danhausen finds a piece of food he thought was lost and leaves the place eating it. Meanwhile, Kit tries to wake up The Miz, who remains lying on the lab floor.

Gunther approaches Nick Aldis backstage. Furious, the Austrian reproaches the General Manager for his lack of respect since his arrival at SmackDown, demanding that he fix this situation. Otherwise, he will be forced to mobilize his legal team.

A furious Sami Zayn finds Johnny Gargano lying on a table. The Canadian points out that he did the right thing, as always, but ends up being the one harmed. Nick Aldis appears on the scene to ask Sami to stay away from Cody Rhodes' affairs. Zayn wants to talk about the issue, but Aldis has no time for him. Sami asks what he has to do that is more important than this. Chad Gable appears on the scene, answering the Canadian's question. Aldis invites Chad to come into his office. Thus, we reach the end of this segment.

The Puerto Rican leaves with his partner, leaving Keys at the mercy of MFT. Tama finishes off Royce with a Cut Throat. Sikoa crouches next to Keys to remind him that he warned him. "You don't listen," he says before leaving the ring with his partners.

Liv Morgan, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh congratulate Raquel Rodriguez on her victory tonight. Morgan hopes that everything goes as planned and that The Judgment Day carries all the gold at SummerSlam.

Finn Bálor stars in a promotional video before his arrival on SmackDown.

Damian Priest talks with R-Truth backstage. R-Truth asks his partner why he didn't help Royce Keys. The Puerto Rican makes it clear that he doesn't care about Keys, a man he also doesn't trust. He only cares about taking care of his partner and his participation in the King of the Ring tournament. R-Truth understands, but they should still check on Royce. Damian points out that it won't be necessary. R-Truth believes his older brother would never have said such a thing. Priest reminds him that he has no brothers. R-Truth says he means John Cena. Priest decides he's had enough and leaves the place. The War Raiders appear on the scene to introduce themselves as the new AAA Tag Team Champions. And when they're ready, they'll be happy to put the titles on the line against the SmackDown champions. "I've never seen you before," says R-Truth before leaving.

THIS IS MY BRUTALITY!

Rhea Ripley heads to the ring to a great ovation. Ripley recalls her victory at Clash in Italy, where she finally managed to end her story with Jade Cargill. Unfortunately, that match took its toll (as evidenced by the knee brace she wears at the moment). Cargill tried to end her, using the game of numerical superiority. However, it didn't work because she is still the WWE Women's Champion. And speaking of help, she also had the unexpected assistance of Charlotte Flair.

"The Queen" appears on the scene!

Charlotte makes it clear that she helped her because she wanted to, because she respects her. Also, she acknowledges that she has had fun with her in recent weeks. But as a fourteen-time world champion, and as fun as this story has been, she wants them to face each other at SummerSlam.

IT'S TIFFY TIME!

Tiffany Stratton recalls her past with Flair. She asks her if she has come out to apologize to her. Tiffany makes it clear that this is not the case. She is the United States Champion, but she also wants the gold that "Mami" carries.

Jade Cargill, B-Fab, and Michin interrupt the segment!

Cargill mocks the three women in the ring before making it clear that Charlotte won't win the Queen of the Ring tournament. Jade addresses Rhea, hoping she enjoys her Championship. The heels head to the ring, ready to attack, at which point Nick Aldis appears on the entrance ramp. The General Manager reminds Rhea that she doesn't have medical clearance to compete, so... Charlotte interrupts him to present an idea: she will team up with Tiffany Stratton to face Jade and one of her partners. Nick considers it a good idea, scheduling the match here and now.
