Verano de Escándalo 2026 will take place on Saturday, July 25 at the Arena San Marcos in Aguascalientes, Mexico, as Lucha Libre AAA has just announced through its social media. As usual, this event will be the prelude to Triplemanía, which this year will be held over two nights and in different cities.
With this announcement, Arena San Marcos becomes a recurring venue for Verano de Escándalo, as it has hosted three of the last four editions of this summer event. So far, AAA has not announced any matches for the show, although it is expected to feature WWE talents, as has happened in the company's recent events.
AAA has also not provided details on the broadcast of the show, although everything points to maintaining the format of the company's recent special events, such as Rey de Reyes and Noche de los Grandes, which were divided into two days (the first one broadcast live) for airing on FOX, the current television home of Lucha Libre AAA.
Once Verano de Escándalo is over, AAA will begin its Road to Triplemanía 34, an event that will take place on September 11 and 13 in Las Vegas and Mexico City, respectively. The second night will feature a defense of the AAA Mega Championship, where many expect to see the coronation of El Grande Americano.
Verano de Escándalo began in AAA in 1997. Since then, it has become an annual event for the company, except for the years 2012, 2013, 2016, and 2020 (in this case due to the COVID-19 pandemic). Its place on the calendar has led many fans to consider it the equivalent of "SummerSlam" in AAA.
