Andre Chase has recalled that, when WWE showed interest in him after his tryout, the company did not immediately consider signing him as a wrestler. He explained that the initial idea was to bring him in as a coach, with a much more attractive financial offer.

Chase recounted that, after WWE's purchase of Evolve, he received a call informing him that he was not under contract and should stay ready in case an opportunity arose. Months later, he received the invitation to the tryout in the midst of the COVID era, and that's when the company made it clear that they saw him as a good candidate to train others.

At that time, I was 31 years old and I thought: 'Well, I'm not ready to leave wrestling yet'. They made it very clear to me that it was one thing or the other. There were no players who were also coaches.

"In November, Canyon called me and said: 'We really wanted you as a coach, but we liked your tryout. What do you want to do?", he declared. "They gave me the figures, and the coach's salary was much higher than what they were offering me as a wrestler. I asked myself: 'Do I take the money and end my career?'. They made it clear to me: 'You can't do both'".

Although the money was tempting, Chase made a different decision. He mentioned that at 31 years old he was still not ready to stop wrestling and that WWE made it clear that there was no possibility of combining both roles.

Ultimately, he chose to continue as a wrestler, even knowing that the coaching position paid more. His reaction was simple: he had come to WWE to compete in the ring, not to close that chapter prematurely.
