With Night of Champions just around the corner, WWE has already begun preparing for its next big event, SummerSlam, which could feature a highly anticipated women's match. According to WrestleVotes as reported by Fightful Select, WWE's creative team proposed that Charlotte Flair face off against Jade Cargill at the biggest event of the summer. As a result, the company would have reserved a spot on the card for this match.
"Sources also indicate that WWE's creative team has been waiting for the right moment and stage to present this matchup, which would take place for the first time. People we've spoken to believe that SummerSlam is the ideal setting for the match. Although plans can always change, there is an internal feeling that the time has come for the Cargill vs. Flair match to take place," wrote Fightful.
It is worth noting that Charlotte and Jade have had numerous confrontations on SmackDown even before "The Storm" won the WWE Women's Championship. Their clashes have intensified in recent weeks, ultimately leading them to face off in tag team matches.
Flair and Cargill will face each other again tomorrow in the last quarter-final match of the Queen of the Ring tournament. Lyra Valkyria and Sol Ruca are the other two participants in this match. The intense rivalry between "The Queen" and "The Storm" could directly impact the outcome of the match and ultimately set the stage for their one-on-one showdown at SummerSlam.
