Despite having a pre-prepared script, WWE shows can experience last-minute changes for various reasons. This, in turn, can lead to time cuts in matches or segments, or even the outright cancellation of them, as was the case in the latest episode of SmackDown, held last week in Bologna, Italy.

Brie Bella, current WWE Women's Tag Team Champion alongside Paige, revealed on the most recent episode of their podcast The Nikki & Brie Show that the plans for that episode included a ring promo. However, this was canceled last minute, preventing them from going out to the ring.

"Well, okay, first I'm going to start with the wrestling part and then I'll talk about what I did between shows. As you know, I started my journey in Barcelona for Friday Night SmackDown. I have to tell you that Paige and I were very sad for not being able to fight in front of you in Spain, or even go out there. We had a backstage segment, which was great, but you know... Fatal Influence are very naughty girls. But well, now it's our turn to face them. We've tasted a bit of their own medicine and we're going to give it back to them. But I have to say that Paige and I were very sad for not being able to go out on stage in Italy," she said.

Nikki Bella pointed out that European fans are an incredible audience. "Incredible," Brie replied. "I mean, they don't stay quiet for a second. They are very loud and fully engage in the stories. They are fantastic. And I know we've talked about this before on the podcast, but it really sparks something in the wrestlers. It gives them even more energy. Do you know what I mean? So thank you, Spain. Thank you, Italy, for being extraordinary audiences."

"And then, on the following Friday's SmackDown, Paige and I thought we had a match, but in the end, it wasn't the case, and we were very disappointed. We were saying: 'Can we please go out in front of the audience, do a promo and all that?'. In fact, it was originally planned for us to go out in front of the audience and do that segment in the stadium. But at the last minute, it was changed. It made us very sad. I was thinking: 'How is it possible that I'm in Europe and I haven't gone out even once in front of any of those fabulous and energetic audiences?'."
