Shawn Chan, the man accused of harassing Liv Morgan, has been declared not guilty by reason of insanity due to a mental disorder, as reported by the POST Wrestling media outlet. Chan was arrested last June after attempting to enter the home of WWE superstar WWE armed with a compressed air gun

The United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida held the trial today, determining that Chan was not guilty by reason of mental insanity of the charge of interstate domestic violence. The court hearing lasted just over thirty minutes. Chan waived his right to a jury trial, allowing Judge Mary S. Scriven to decide the case.

Two independent psychologists concluded that Chan was unable to understand the gravity or the unlawful nature of his actions due to the severity of his mental illness. The specialists noted that Chan had never received treatment for mental health issues and had not seen a doctor in over twenty years.

On May 26, 2025, Chan traveled by plane from Scarborough, Ontario, to Orlando. When passing through customs in Florida, he informed the agents that he would be staying at the WWE Performance Center. According to the criminal complaint, four days later he traveled several hours to Liv Morgan's residence, circled the property multiple times, and accessed the backyard.

He then attempted to enter through the front door but was unsuccessful. During his stay, he found and held a compressed air gun located on the front porch. After waiting for several hours, he left a note and departed. According to the complaint filed against him, the note left at Morgan's residence contained his name, address in Canada, and phone number. Part of the message read:

"I'm Shawn, the guy you all hang out with online on (name of the gaming platform removed in the report). You've been trying to contact me, or rather, get close to me when I'm not connected to that game. So, who's the stalker, huh? I NEVER said or did anything wrong for over ten years, and yet everyone dared to hate me for no reason! I came here just to make a friendly visit, nothing more. However, thanks to all of you, I look like a stalker. Do you think I'm going to feel empathy, sympathy, or care about any of you? I'll start saying and doing whatever I want, no matter how much you gesture for me to shut up. Yes, I just wanted you to know I was here."

Chan was arrested on June 3 at the WWE Performance Center after security personnel recognized him in surveillance footage taken during his visit to Liv Morgan's house days earlier. Despite being found not guilty, the court still needs to determine the confinement or supervision measures that the Canadian will have to comply with
