Neither Cody nor Gunther seem happy with this match's ending. Meanwhile, a furious Nick Aldis appears on the entrance ramp to confront Sami for his questionable performance. Both return backstage as the segment comes to an end.

We return from commercial to see Aldis, Cody, Sami, and Gunther discussing in the Gorilla Position. The General Manager blames Gunther for what happened tonight, as it was he who requested Sami as the special referee for the match. Tired of arguing, Cody grabs a metal chair and heads to the ring. "The American Nightmare" apologizes to the fans for what happened. That's why he's not willing to let this end this way. Cody demands the presence of a referee - a suitable one - for the match to be restarted. Sami reminds Aldis that he is the special referee for this match. Cathy Kelley interviews Jade Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab backstage. Cargill makes it clear that they do what they want because they are the ones in charge of the women's division on SmackDown. Jade blames Tiffany Stratton for her defeat in the Queen of the Ring tournament quarterfinals, making it clear that she will get her revenge on her. Michin recalls that Stratton wasn't even part of the tournament, but still decided to mess with Cargill. And that offense won't go unpunished. Jade speaks up again to boast about injuring Rhea Ripley. With that said, she points out that Night of Champions needs a star of her caliber. That's why she challenges Tiffany to put the United States Women's Championship on the line against her at the PLE in Saudi Arabia. Cargill, Michin, and B-Fab leave to end the interview.

A furious Gunther approaches Nick Aldis backstage. The Austrian blames the SmackDown General Manager for what happened tonight due to his inability to do his job properly. Gunther orders him to do the right thing and schedule a new match for the WWE Undisputed Championship at Night of Champions. Gunther leaves to end this segment.

Jacob Fatu approaches Solo Sikoa in the locker room. Solo asks "The Samoan Werewolf" what he wants from him. Has Roman Reigns sent him again to ask him to return to The Bloodline? Because the answer is still "no." Fatu assures him that he is not here for him, but to make sure no one interferes in Jey Uso's match. As for Solo's response to Roman's request, Jacob believes he made the wrong decision. "You know what he wants, and he doesn't like to wait too long. Time is running out for you to make the right decision, Solo," says Fatu before leaving.

Talla Tonga and Tama Tonga appear on the scene. Tama asks Sikoa what all that was about. Solo explains that Roman wants to take control of SmackDown once again, and for that, he wants him back in The Bloodline. However, they shouldn't worry about that, but about regaining the WWE Tag Team Championships tonight. That's why the three of them will go out together. Tama opposes it. Tama believes that Solo's issues with The Bloodline are starting to affect MFT. "If you go out there, you never know who will follow you," says Tama. Solo tries to understand his partner's words when Talla steps forward. "The Bloodline is not a problem for us. The Tag Team Championships are," says Talla. He and Tama leave to end the segment.

Blake Monroe stars in a new promotional video. Once again, "The Glamour" writes in her diary about one of the female talents of the blue brand. This time it's Giulia. Blake recalls that they crossed paths in Japan. At that time, she already sensed that the aura and presence of "The Beautiful Madness" would lead her to the "dance." "Congratulations. You made it. But it seems you've forgotten the steps. But don't get me wrong. Anger is very intimidating, but I think it's clouding your judgment. Instead, I, well, I can see very clearly and it seems there's a leading role waiting to be filled. And who better to appear on your screens than The Glamour? After all, I'm quite a sight to behold. Don't cry when I overshadow you, because The Glamour will soon arrive on SmackDown. Sincerely, Blake Monroe," says the British to end the video.

Sami Zayn laments what happened tonight. As has become customary, the Canadian vents to a dejected Johnny Gargano (accompanied by Candice LeRae). "I'm a good guy. I'm The Last Real Good Guy around here," says Zayn. Nick Aldis appears on the scene to confront the Canadian over his work as a referee. Sami, however, assures him that he did the right thing. Cody Rhodes, his "golden boy," is still the champion, which is why the General Manager should be happy and why "The American Nightmare" should thank him. "I'm the reason he's still the WWE Champion. And you know what? I didn't ask for any of this. I didn't ask to be in the middle of all this, but now I am, and I'm not going away that easily," says Sami as he places his referee shirt on Aldis' shoulder. The Canadian walks away, bringing the segment to an end.

An energetic Jey Uso delivers a backstage promo. The Samoan promises he will defeat Je'Von Evans tonight and Oba Femi in the King of the Ring tournament final, which will lead him to face Cody Rhodes at SummerSlam. Evans approaches Jey and declares himself a fan. "Good luck, Unc (old man)," says Evans. The comment irritates the Samoan, who quickly fires back. "Keep that same energy tonight when I slap the words out of your mouth and make you my son, Uce," says Jey. "Woooo!" exclaims Flair, bringing the interview to an end.

Los Garza appear on the scene to confront Danhausen for costing them a fortune with the New York Knicks' victory in the NBA Finals. Now they want to recover the money they paid the eccentric character. He informs them that it won't be possible, as he has already spent it all on this experiment. The Mexicans are furious. Danhausen tries to curse them, but Angel and Berto rush him to stop him. The Mexicans threaten Danhausen, at which point Matt Cardona appears. Cardona recalls that he lost his watch, but that's no reason to get angry. Angel advises Matt not to interfere in their business. "If you've got a problem with Danhausen, then you've got a problem with me too! Leave him alone!" exclaims Cardona. The Mexicans leave the area. Danhausen thanks Cardona for his help. Matt asks Danhausen if The Miz and Wilson are okay. Cardona touches The Miz, only to receive an electric shock. Matt grabs his right hand. "Hey, are you okay?" asks Danhausen. R-Truth points out that family is what matters, and now Finn needs to wear gold as well. Bálor makes it clear that he doesn't need any help. "Dude, once you're in The Judgment Day, you're Judgment Day for life," says R-Truth before hugging him. Damian Priest appears and asks what's going on. Tell Roman that if he keeps messing with my family, then I'll have to go to his show and start messing with his", says Sikoa before walking away.

Giulia delivers a video promo. "The Beautiful Madness" points out that her time in various promotions is what has made her the wrestler she is today. She began her career in Japan, her mother's homeland. A few weeks ago, in Italy, her father's homeland, her relationship with Kiana James came to an end. Giulia recalls that she won the United States Women's Championship in North America. Next week, WWE will hold a show in London, the city where she was born. "Kiana, it's time for our paths to separate. And what better place to end this than where it all began for me? Next week, in London, we'll finally find out which one of us is better without the other," says the Italian-Japanese star, bringing her promo to an end.

Cathy Kelley interviews Tiffany Stratton backstage. The United States Champion assures everyone that Jade Cargill is desperate to win another title. However, she has no problem granting her wish at Night of Champions. "The difference between us is that I don't need my awful subordinates to do the work for me..." says the champion before being interrupted by Chelsea Green. The Canadian apologizes to Stratton for arriving late. Tiffany, however, doesn't understand what Chelsea is doing there. Green asks Cathy for a minute alone with Stratton. Chelsea assures Tiffany that she is taking her straight to superstardom. Stratton, however, reminds her how she has spent the last year insulting her and doing nothing whenever she was being attacked. And now she wants to be her friend? "I don't need your help, Chelsea. I can do all of this on my own," says Tiffy before walking away.

Alexa Bliss is the focus of the latest edition of "NXT Origins."

Liv Morgan delivers a video promo aimed directly at Charlotte Flair. Morgan makes it clear that she doesn't care how many world championships "The Queen" has won or what she accomplished in the past because all of that is history. "This tournament is about proving who is the best of the best, and unfortunately, Charlotte, that's not you anymore," says Liv. She promises Flair that tonight she will be defeated by the greatest Women's World Champion of aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall time. "And the first champion to become your Queen of the Ring," she adds before the video comes to an end.

Brie Bella and Paige deliver a promo ahead of their title defense against Bayley and Lyra Valkyria. The WWE Women's Tag Team Champions acknowledge that their reign has not been easy. However, they have overcome every obstacle placed in front of them since the moment they captured the titles. Paige and Brie praise and respect their opponents for next Monday, but they will be ready for them. Lyra and Bayley may be a perfect team in many ways, but unfortunately for them, they will return to the United States empty-handed.

Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Lainey Reid) cut a promo in the locker room. Jacy admits that things did not go according to plan last week. However, she blames the referee for ejecting her from ringside. That was when Paige and Brie Bella once again cheated to secure the victory. "I guess the rules don't apply to self-proclaimed legends," says Jayne. Fallon insists that the champions are not better than them. Lainey makes it clear that they had Paige and Brie exactly where they wanted them. And if the champions retain their gold on Raw, they will come after them again. Jacy reveals that she is heading straight to Nick Aldis' office to request a singles match against Paige next week. That way, she can humiliate her in her home country in front of her family and friends. "Because that's exactly what happens when you mess with our Influence," says Jacy, ending the promo.

Cody Rhodes approaches an exhausted Jey Uso to congratulate him on his victory tonight. Cody reminds him that he only has one more opponent to defeat to achieve his goal. "One more, Cody. And then, SummerSlam, Uce," replies the Samoan. "Don't forget about Oba. Besides, Jey, I'm easy to find," says the Undisputed WWE Champion before walking away.

Jey continues on his way until he encounters Sami Zayn, who also wants to congratulate him. Sami is convinced that Jey will win the King of the Ring tournament. However, he doesn't believe his opponent at SummerSlam will be Cody, but rather himself. And when that moment comes, what will Jey do? "You know me, Sami. I'll do whatever I have to do, Uce," replies the Samoan. "Say hello to the family for me," says Zayn. The Samoan silently stares at the Canadian before walking away. Thus, the segment comes to an end.

However, before she can enter, Liv surprises her with a chop block directly to her injured leg. Aldis appears and tries to convince "The Queen" to withdraw. Visibly emotional, Charlotte refuses.
