Pete Dunne stated that the last few years have been a "strange journey," but he remains determined to prove that he belongs among the elite of the wrestling world. Currently, he works in WWE under the mask of American Thunder and also works in production at Lucha Libre AAA.
With permission from WWE, Dunne wrestled on Friday in Cardiff, Wales, for Attack Pro Wrestling, where he appeared unmasked, competed as himself, and defeated Leon Cage. After the match, he took the microphone to thank the fans for their continued support.
I know that my career in recent years has had its ups and downs. It's been a strange journey. But I just want to thank you all for continuing to support me. Whatever happens, I promise you one thing: every time I'm given the opportunity to step into this ring, between these ropes, I will show you all that I am still one of the best wrestlers in the world.
Dunne explained that, regardless of what happens with his character or his position on television, every time he steps into the ring he wants to prove that he is still one of the best wrestlers in the world. He also had words of praise for Cage, whom he sees as a future star of British wrestling.
The Briton recalled that the UK scene produced some of the best talents of his generation and he believes that tradition will grow again. In WWE, he is also aligned with his compatriot Tyler Bate under the group American Bravo, alongside El Grande Americano, played by Ludwig Kaiser.
