Kevin Nash talked about one of the most memorable images from WCW: Sting's entrances descending from the rafters. The "Icon" became a specialist in that modality during the Monday Night Wars era and the former world champion remembers it with astonishment. Nash admitted that he himself lived that experience, but made it clear that what was truly impressive was seeing Sting take that risk over and over again as part of his weekly routine.
As he explained on his podcast Kliq This, his own fall was one of the highest attempted by the company, and he didn't even do a previous rehearsal. But his respect was mainly for Sting, because turning something like that into a weekly habit, in such an exposed stage of the business, seemed to him an impressively crazy thing.
Nash also recalled a specific scene in Dallas, when Sting descended from above, hooked Diamond Dallas Page with a double harness and lifted him back up to the ceiling. For Nash, that moment remains one of the most impactful he saw in WCW and perfectly sums up the level of spectacle that era could offer.
I remember it like it was yesterday. We were arriving in Dallas. Sting did a rappel in Dallas. We had taken DDP down to the ground, next to the barrier, and Sting descended with that double harness and took Dallas up to the ceiling with him. It was so... I just remember sitting there watching it and thinking: "Wow!"
Beyond the backstage drama and internal politics, Nash wanted to emphasize that there were many talents giving their all every week. His message was that WCW was not just chaos behind the scenes, but also a roster full of stars taking huge risks in front of the audience.
