Darby Allin has completely ruled out facing Mick Foley one-on-one, stating that he has too much respect for him to push him into a return that could be uncomfortable or unnecessary. For Allin, there is not enough value in such a fight at this point in Foley's career.
That doesn't mean he doesn't want to share the ring with him. In fact, he explained that he would be delighted to team up with Foley, comparing that idea to his own partnership with Sting, a stage he considers very special within AEW.
Allin also wondered if Foley still has unfinished business in his career, just like Sting did when he arrived in AEW. However, he emphasized that he would not try to force a possible Foley comeback, and that if the hardcore legend returns, he would prefer to be by his side rather than facing him.
Would I team up with him? Of course. I would do it without thinking twice. Just like I would never fight against Sting. I would love to team up with him. But that's something Mick has to answer. What does he feel about his career that, if needed, would make him ask himself some unanswered questions?
"I know that, in Sting's case, many years ago, there were many unanswered questions about how his career ended and how it didn't go on his own terms. Does Mick still have those doubts, like Sting did? That remains to be seen," he commented.
For his part, Foley recently admitted that he has thought about one last match, although he made it clear that he would have to be in very good shape to not disappoint anyone. He even pointed to Darby as a dream opponent, which makes the AEW star's refusal to accept that match even more intriguing.
