Yesterday, June 30, 2026, the transfer of all shares of New Japan Pro-Wrestling owned by Bushiroad was completed, and they are now in the hands of TV Asahi and CyberAgent. Today, Hiroshi Tanahashi, president of NJPW, has issued an official statement regarding this to address some concerns and reassure fans as this new chapter begins.

"I am Hiroshi Tanahashi, president of New Japan Pro-Wrestling. As previously announced, yesterday, June 30, all shares owned by Bushiroad were transferred to TV Asahi and CyberAgent, making New Japan Pro-Wrestling a consolidated subsidiary of TV Asahi.

TV Asahi has acknowledged New Japan's tradition of creating numerous wrestling stars and developing new talents, as well as the passion of our fans both in Japan and abroad, the strength of our brand globally, our ability to organize successful events, and the value of our audiovisual content.

This year, TV Asahi broadcasted two of our events in prime time nationwide. Moving forward, alongside our wrestlers, employees, and executives, we will continue to enhance the appeal of New Japan and increase the company's value so that TV Asahi is motivated to drive us towards even greater growth.

With the collaboration of CyberAgent, we believe that by making our wrestlers even more well-known and shining brighter, we will fill venues to capacity and bring great joy to our fans. We are committed to working harder and more dedicated than ever.

To all those watching this video, we ask for your continued support. Furthermore, we will continue to value the relationship we have built with STARDOM and will keep striving together as good rivals. Fans of both organizations, you can rest assured.

Now is the time for the new New Japan Pro-Wrestling to take its first step towards the next stage. Stay tuned!" he said.
