AMC and TNA+ aired last night episode number 1,146 of TNA Thursday Night iMPACT!, recorded from the Broadview Center in Albany, New York. The show, the twenty-sixth of the AMC era, featured several matches and segments of interest, highlighting the start of the tournament to crown the first Knockouts Television Champion and Eddie Edwards' victory over Leon Slater in the main event of the night.

- Accompanied by his brother Ryan, Nic Nemeth delivered a promo in the ring as the new TNA World Champion. Nic listed the victims he has accumulated throughout his career (Randy Orton, Cody Rhodes, Jeff Hardy, and Ultimo Dragon, among others). Meanwhile, his brother displayed a scroll with the names of all these wrestlers. KC Navarro interrupted the segment with the aim of talking to Nic, but Ryan wouldn't allow it. Nic then decided to solve the problem, stating that he would go backstage to arrange a match between them later that night. Before the segment ended, Nic proclaimed himself the best wrestler in the world, challenging anyone to face him.

- Gia Miller interviewed Leon Slater backstage. Leon made it clear that his rivalry with Cedric Alexander was far from over and that his goal was still to regain the X-Division Championship. However, he first had to defeat his opponent of the night: Eddie Edwards. A man he called a "disgusting pig" for what he did to Moose's family at TNA Slammiversary. Slater ended the interview promising to knock out that "scum" of a human being on his way to the championship.

- Mara Sadé defeated Tasha Steelz to advance to the second round of the Knockouts Television Championship tournament. Sadé used a moonsault for the victory.

- Rich Swann and BDE conversed backstage before their match for an opportunity at the X-Division Championship. BDE pointed out that he had not yet achieved a victory in TNA Wrestling, so he still had to prove that he belonged in this place. Both men wished each other luck, making it clear that there would be no hard feelings no matter what happened in the ring.

- Fabian Aichner defeated Mr. Elegance, BDE, Rich Swann, Jason Hotch, and The Home Town Man in a Scramble Match to earn a shot at the X-Division Championship. Aicher used a powerbomb on BDE for the victory.

TNA provided a medical update on several of its talents:

  • The participants in the TNA World Tag Team Championship match at Slammiversary will need a week of rest to recover before being cleared by the medical team.
  • Personal Concierge has not been medically cleared after Rosemary sprayed him with poison mist in the eyes.
  • Trey Miguel continues to recover from the knee injury suffered at TNA Rebellion.
  • Eddie Edwards and Moose have been medically cleared to compete despite their brutal No Surrender Match at TNA Slammiversary.

- A.J. Francis and Expressions approached Ricky Sosa backstage. Both men declared themselves big fans of Sosa, with Francis inviting him to "fly first class." Expressions advised him to think carefully about the proposal before giving his answer. Otherwise, he could go from Ricky "Bang Bang" to "Boyz n' The Hood." "Bang, bang," said Sosa in front of Francis and Expressions before continuing on his way.

- Mustafa Ali scolded The Great Hands and Tasha Steelz for their recent losses. Ali indicated to Jason Hotch and John Skyler that he would get them a new opportunity, but with one condition. "Win," he exclaimed before leaving.

- Ricky Sosa delivered a promo in the ring. Sosa recalled the intense battle he had with Eric Young at TNA Slammiversary. A battle from which he emerged victorious and which allowed him to prove that he belongs in this company. Additionally, he assured that this was just the beginning. At that moment, The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch) interrupted the segment. Dutch pointed out that he kept hearing how great Sosa is. However, potential is not everything. Dutch claimed that The Righteous bring out the greatness in their opponents, as they already demonstrated with The Hardys. Vincent, on his part, stated that Ricky has limits. However, with The Righteous' help, that limit can be surpassed.

The System interrupted the segment. Alisha Edwards pointed out that the only way Sosa could make a name for himself would be by joining The System. Vincent stated that Edwards' faction could only offer empty promises. Both teams continued to argue, leading Sosa to intervene. Ricky made it clear that he would not join either of them. Bear Bronson wasted no time in attacking Sosa, who fell to the canvas. Dutch confronted Bronson, at which point a recovered Ricky exacted his revenge with a big boot on the member of The System. The entire faction launched an assault on Sosa, at which point The Righteous decided to leave the ring. Leon Slater then entered the scene to help Ricky, but they could do nothing in numerical inferiority. The segment ended with The System posing over their victims.

- Elijah sang a song backstage about reclaiming his artistic name, as well as his image and music after defeating A.J. Francis at Slammiversary. Elijah also revealed his intention to win gold.

- Heather By Elegance (with M By Elegance) defeated Allie (with Rosemary) to advance to the second round of the Knockouts Television Championship tournament. Heather used a double diving footstomp for the victory.

- Xia Brookside delivered a promo in the ring as the new Knockouts World Champion. "I hate to say it. Actually, I don't. I told you. I told you Léi Yǐng Lee was a selfish person. I told you she was holding me back. I told you, as long as I was under her shadow, you wouldn't be able to see how good Xia Brookside really is," Xia stated proudly before displaying her belt. Brookside addressed her former friend directly, hoping that her defeat at Slammiversary had taught her a lesson. Xia assured that TNA was not a place for Lee, just as the Knockouts Championship deserved to be around her waist. Brookside threatened to end Lee once and for all if she tried to reclaim the title.

Léi Yǐng Lee interrupted the promo. Lee mentioned that there was a time when she would have been happy to see her as champion. However, after everything she had done and all the tricks she had used to win the gold, she couldn't be. "I look at you and I don't see a champion. I see a fake bitch!," she exclaimed. The crowd began chanting "Fake Bitch." "Xia, now you're the one with everything to lose. I want my title rematch, and I want it next week on iMPACT!," she said. Brookside tried to attack Lee with her belt, but the Chinese wrestler dodged it to catch her former friend. However, Lee managed to escape to ringside to safety. "Do you want weapons?! Do you want weapons?!," Lee shouted. "Good! Let's make this a no disqualification match!," she added. The segment ended with both women exchanging looks.

- Mustafa Ali approached Daria Rae to point out that many people believed that the Authority Director owed him an apology for what happened at Slammiversary (where he had to put the International Championship on the line in a triple threat match). However, he didn't need it, but rather a favor: for The Great Hands to receive a new opportunity for the TNA World Tag Team Championships. Daria reminded him of his position, which allowed him to arrange any type of match, whether a triple threat or a six-way match for that International Championship. On the other hand, Ali's idea seemed very good to her, so she agreed to put it into practice. A satisfied Mustafa shook Daria's hand. "The best boss in the world," he said before leaving.

- KC Navarro defeated Ryan Nemeth after applying the Blessing In Disguise. After the match, Nic Nemeth (who had been a guest commentator) forced both men to shake hands. Suddenly, Nic surprised Navarro with a Danger Zone. Nic left with his brother, whose arm he raised on the entrance ramp.

- The Hardys delivered a brief promo backstage to address their upcoming rivals. "Broken" Matt pointed out that Mustafa Ali had not received a favor for The Great Hands, but a sacrifice. Brother Nero, on his part, stated that this extreme version of himself and his brother made them supermen with superpowers, and now they can achieve anything in TNA. Matt concluded the promo by promising The Great Hands that next week they would face the best tag team champions in TNA history. And it will be "wonderful."

- Eddie Edwards defeated Leon Slater in the main event of the night. A distraction from Alisha Edwards and Cedric Alexander allowed Eddie to surprise Slater with a roll-up. The System members wasted no time in launching an assault on Leon, but Ricky Sosa came to the rescue. However, unlike the last time, The System ended up being repelled. Sosa and Slater posed on nearby turnbuckles as the show came to an end.
