Road Dogg was one of the most talked-about names around TNA after his presence at Slammiversary, but this week he was not at the television tapings in Albany. According to PWInsider, Brian "Road Dogg" James was not backstage on either July 1st or 2nd because negotiations with the company are still ongoing and nothing has been signed yet.

The report indicates that both parties continue to talk and that the direction of the conversations is positive, although not fast enough for him to join the tapings already. In other words, his visit to Slammiversary seems to have been more of an initial contact than a formal entry into the team.

The timing is especially relevant because TNA is still reorganizing its creative structure after Tommy Dreamer's departure. Road Dogg has been linked for weeks to a possible backstage role, so his name remains one of the most important ones in the current company's restructuring.

For now, however, nothing is set in stone. The next round of TNA tapings is scheduled for the end of the month in Philadelphia, and it could be then when, if everything is resolved, Road Dogg officially ends up appearing in the company.
