On July 21st, Netflix will premiere the third season of its popular documentary series WWE Unreal. This time, the series will focus on the figure of John Cena and his retirement as a professional wrestler. The episodes will cover from the end of SummerSlam, where he lost the WWE Undisputed Championship to Cody Rhodes, to his last match against Gunther in December.
This afternoon, Netflix has shared the trailer for the season through its social media. In the video, we can see some clips of the episodes, with a strong presence of the seventeen-time world champion. Additionally, talents like Bron Breakker, Liv Morgan, and AJ Lee will also have their relevance throughout the season.
The first season of WWE Unreal, premiered in July 2025, allowed fans to peek behind the scenes to get to know in-depth superstars like Cody Rhodes, Rhea Ripley, Bianca Belair, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns. Produced by WWE, Netflix, and NFL Films, the series portrayed the pressure of big events, the challenges off-camera, and the contrasts between glory and frustration, showing a realistic and emotional side of the business rarely seen on television.
The success of this first season led Netflix to almost immediately prepare a new batch of episodes that were released in January of this same year. Rhodes, Rollins, and Ripley continued to be important focal points of the narrative, with additional names like Becky Lynch, R-Truth, IYO SKY, Naomi, Chelsea Green, Lyra Valkyria, and Penta joining in.
