Bad luck has struck again for AAA superstar El Hijo del Vikingo, who will undergo surgery today. The Mexican wrestler injured his left knee during his recent adventure in WWE, which prevented him from fulfilling the two dates he had scheduled with the company.

El Hijo del Vikingo's injury could not have come at a worse time. Established as one of the key figures in Lucha Libre AAA, Vikingo not only held the company's Latin American Championship but was also part of one of its most important factions, El Ojo.
Last week, he traveled to the United States with the goal of competing for the AAA Cruiserweight World Championship at the SmackDown tapings that took place on Monday. Just a day later, he was scheduled to defend his Latin American Championship against EK Prosper in WWE NXT, but the match never took place.
The promotion justified the cancellation of the match with a backstage segment, where Keanu Carver attacked the Mexican with a metal chair. Later, it was reported that Vikingo had suffered a real injury in his match against Rey Fenix on SmackDown.
