TNA Wrestling has announced this afternoon the renewal of Rich Swann. The news was revealed by the wrestler himself in an interview with Daily Star. "Ladies and gentlemen, here is your guy, Mr. All Night Long, Rich Swann. I have renewed with Total Nonstop Action, yes, sir!" Swann said.
"I truly believe in this company. I feel great. I feel like TNA is exactly where it needs to be right now. We are giving our all every Thursday night and I am very happy to be a part of it. I have been with IMPACT Wrestling and TNA since 2018, and holding this position within the company is simply amazing. I truly believe in this company, from the X Division to the tag team division and the Knockouts division," he stated.
"What motivates me is that I have seen this company at its worst. People have always pointed fingers at TNA. They said, 'Oh, they are going to disappear. They are going to lose their way. They won't amount to anything. They will be just a footnote in this industry.' I have seen us rise from the ashes and silence all those who doubted us. I love being a part of that. That is another thing that drives me. I love proving people wrong. I love it," he said.
TNA Wrestling will hold Lockdown on Sunday, August 23 at the Credit Union 1 Arena in downtown Chicago, with all matches taking place inside a steel cage. In this regard, Swann commented: "I would love to be inside that cage. I would love to participate in Lockdown. I would love to be in a Lethal Lockdown. I would love to compete in any type of match with special stipulations. There is no better opportunity than being at the Credit Union 1 Arena to be part of the return of Lockdown. I'm going all out throughout the night, baby."
Rich Swann signed with IMPACT/TNA in 2018, just after leaving WWE. His time with the Anthem Media company has been the most stable of his entire professional career, even holding the world championship in a prominent reign. This came to an end at Rebellion 2021, where Swann was defeated by Kenny Omega.
