The imminent departure of Sheamus from WWE has led many to dream of a reunion of The Bar in All Elite Wrestling. As expected, his partner in that team, Claudio Castagnoli, has already begun to be asked about it. However, the Swiss wrestler prefers that "The Celtic Warrior" be the one to speak on the matter when he is ready to do so.
"I don't think it's up to me to talk about that. I feel that it's something he will talk about when he's ready to do so. I have continued to be his friend all this time. Of course, I would like to see my friends more often. But yes, I think I will be asked that question a lot, although I believe he should be the one to answer it when the time comes," Castagnoli said in an interview for Daily Star.
"What I can say is that he and I have been training a lot together, expanding our knowledge, so to speak, and thinking about the future and what's to come. And what we would really like to do is get our referee license and become The VAR," joked the Swiss to end the question.
Sheamus and Castagnoli (known as Cesaro at that time) starred in an intense rivalry in 2016, which resulted in a special best-of-seven competition. Both wrestlers reached the seventh and deciding match tied at three wins each. The match ended in a draw. However, this particular war ended up strengthening the bond between them, leading them to form The Bar.
The team of Sheamus and Castagnoli operated from 2016 to 2019, winning five tag team championships in this period and establishing themselves as one of the most solid and beloved tag teams by the fans. Unlike other cases, the team was dissolved without conflicts among its members. Three years later, Castagnoli left WWE to sign with AEW. Now many are hoping that they will reunite, this time in Tony Khan's company.
