Lucha Libre AAA and FOX bring us tonight the first day of Verano de Escándalo, which will take place at the Arena San Marcos in Aguascalientes, Mexico. The event features a lineup full of great matches, including several title defenses. For this first night, Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana will defend the Mixed Tag Team Championships against La Hiedra and Laredo Kid.

We see the arrival of some of tonight's protagonists at the venue: Lola Vice, Mr. Iguana, La Hiedra, Laredo Kid, Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio, and El Grande Americano.
Rey Mysterio is the one to open the show. The fans welcome him with a great ovation. The AAA General Manager welcomes the audience to a new edition of Verano de Escándalo. A show that will be spread out over three weeks. Rey Mysterio highlights his connection with the city of Aguascalientes and its fans, who have always shown him the passion they feel for wrestling. Rey Mysterio assures that he has not stopped working backstage to bring wrestling to a global stage. That's why he wanted to come out to brighten their night by giving them great news. El Ojo (Dorian Roldán and Omos) burst onto the scene!
Roldán and Omos head to the ring. Dorian takes the floor, only to be silenced by loud boos. Roldán reminds Rey Mysterio that he gave him a week to think it over. Dorian blames the masked man for the injury suffered by El Hijo del Vikingo. And all because he sent him to an unsafe place like SmackDown and NXT. As a result, the wrestler won't be able to return for many months. "How does it feel to have sent and injured the best wrestler today?", he asks. Roldán also accuses him of denying Omos the right to hold the Latin American Championship he clearly deserves. Face the consequences", says Dorian. He convinces Omos to return backstage, thus ending this segment.
Dominik Mysterio and El Grande Americano are backstage. Mysterio hopes that both are on the same page because they need to be united against Los Perros del Mal. El Grande Americano agrees, but first he needs to confirm something. The masked man wants to know if the AAA Megachampion will back him up tonight or if, on the contrary, he is allied with Los Perros del Mal. Offended, Dominik assures him that he is not with the faction. His only wish is that they don't mess up the biggest match in Triplemanía history. "Well, yeah. You're right. We have to focus and... yeah, man. So, are you ready?" El Grande Americano asks. "I'm ready. Are you ready?" Dom replies as he fist bumps his partner. The AAA Megachampion leaves the place, at which point Damián 666 appears on the scene. "Remember, few are chosen", says the legend to El Grande Americano before leaving.

Kid and Mr. Iguana start the match. Laredo keeps pushing his opponent while leaving La Yesca in his corner. Mr. Iguana and Kid test their strength in the center of the ring. Mr. Iguana surprises Laredo with his quick movements. Kid slaps Mr. Iguana, who responds with several armdrags. Laredo tags in La Hiedra, who doesn't hesitate to confront her former partner. Lola approaches to intervene between them.
Vice and La Hiedra exchange attacks. La Hiedra surprises Lola with two consecutive powerslams. Vice responds with a flurry of kicks. La Hiedra ends up in one of the corners. Lola prepares to execute a Running Hip Attack, but Laredo intervenes. Vice quickly kicks the masked wrestler. Mr. Iguana joins his partner to assist her in a Running Hip Attack on their two rivals, who end up at ringside.
Lola dives onto Kid with a back senton, only to be surprised with a cutter from La Hiedra. Mr. Iguana confronts his former partner, who quickly brings Vice back into the ring. La Hiedra continues to punish Lola, catching her in a headlock. Mr. Iguana encourages his partner, who throws several punches to break free. However, she soon falls back into the clutches of the masked wrestler.
La Hiedra charges at Lola against one of the corners. La Hiedra takes a run for her next move, but Vice stops her with a superkick before applying an Angle Slam. Both women are left lying on the mat. Lola and La Hiedra crawl to their respective corners to tag in their partners. Mr. Iguana launches a quick assault on Kid, surprising him with a Chalino Driver. 1..2..NO.
Laredo surprises Mr. Iguana, hitting him with a Forearm in one of the corners. Kid executes a Michinoku Driver on his opponent before finishing him off with a 450 Splash. 1.........2..NO. Kid argues with the referee for what he feels was a suspiciously long count of three. The action continues, with Mr. Iguana surprising Laredo with a DDT. Both men are left lying on the mat. Mr. Iguana and Kid crawl to their respective corners to tag in their partners.
La Hiedra and Lola start an exchange of attacks. La Hiedra surprises Vice with a headbutt. Lola responds to the attack, but can't avoid the impact of a Flatliner. 1..2..NO. Now it's Vice who surprises La Hiedra with a spinning kick. 1..2..NO. Kid interrupts the count. Mr. Iguana throws Laredo out of the ring before launching himself at him with a hurricanrana.
Kid surprises Mr. Iguana, throwing him against the metal stairs. Meanwhile, Vice covers La Hiedra with a roll-up. 1..2..NO. La Hiedra pushes Lola to escape the pin. Vice ends up in the ropes, where she executes a back fist to knock Laredo off the apron. Rey Mysterio holds a press conference to share the news he couldn't give earlier due to Dorian Roldán. Rey insists on his desire to give greater exposure to wrestling worldwide. With this, AAA wrestlers will have more opportunities and greater visibility. The opportunity to become world-class superstars and the possibility of doing the same for Mexico. Mysterio receives a text message from Penta, who will be present at the show the company will hold in Torreón. El Grande Americano corners Daga to unleash a flurry of kicks. Daga tries to recover, only to be taken down with an armdrag. El Grande Americano finishes off his opponent with a Penalty Kick. 1..2..NO. El Grande Americano seeks height in one of the corners. Angel moves the ropes to make the masked man lose his balance and fall to the mat. Angel receives the tag to punish El Grande Americano.
Angel crushes the masked man in one of the corners before unleashing a flurry of punches. El Grande Americano recovers to counter the attacks of the Mexican. El Grande Americano dodges a corner splash from Angel to tag in Dominik. He unleashes a quick offensive on Angel, who ends up pleading for mercy on his knees. Angel lowers his head near his opponent's feet, only to quickly attack him with an uppercut!
Daga and Angel take turns punishing Dom. Daga takes down Mysterio with a dropkick. 1..2..NO. Angel receives the tag. Daga and Angel unleash a flurry of kicks on Mysterio. El Grande Americano tries to rescue his partner, but the referee intervenes to take him back to his corner. Los Perros del Mal take advantage to continue attacking the Megachampion. Angel takes Dominik to the top of one of the corners. Mysterio surprises Angel with a DDT. Both are left lying on the mat. Dominik and Angel crawl to their respective corners to tag in their partners.
El Grande Americano enters with everything, taking care of both opponents at the same time. El Grande Americano applies a double diving neckbreaker on his rivals. El Grande Americano covers Daga. 1..2..NO. "This is wrestling!" chant the fans. Dom receives the tag to apply The Three Amigos on Daga. Mysterio tags in El Grande Americano so they can both execute the third suplex of the move. The masked man covers Daga. 1..2..NO.
El Grande Americano takes Daga to the top of his corner to execute a superplex. Mysterio finishes him off with a frog splash. 1..2..NO. Angel pushes El Grande Americano onto Dom to interrupt the count. "This is wrestling!" chant the fans once again. Mysterio surprises Daga with a dropkick. Dom prepares to execute a 619, but Daga prevents it with a lariat. Both men are left lying on the mat. The AAA Megachampion and the leader of Los Perros del Mal crawl to their respective corners to tag in their partners.
Angel attacks El Grande Americano directly in the eyes. Daga tries to attack the masked man, only to receive a Dragon Screw in response. The referee approaches Daga to check on his condition, at which point El Grande Americano pushes Angel into the official, who falls to ringside. Angel is left lying on the second rope, allowing Dom to hit him with a 619. El Grande Americano finishes him off with a flying headbutt, but there is no referee to make the three count.
Mysterio returns to his corner to retrieve something from inside his boot. It's a metal plate, which he quickly offers to his partner. However, El Grande Americano doesn't want to use it. Suddenly, Bronco Nima and Berto burst onto the scene to attack Dominik! El Grande Americano tries to help Mysterio, but Nima lands a punch. Berto and Bronco throw the Megachampion against the metal stairs before slamming him into one of the posts. Meanwhile, Angel knocks down El Grande Americano with a direct knee to the face. 1..2..NO.
Bravo and Rayo Americano appear armed with kendo sticks to start a fight with Bronco and Berto!
Bravo climbs to the top of a steel structure to jump with a diving crossbody on Nima, Berto, and Rayo. The fans go wild. Meanwhile, El Grande Americano executes a side slam on Angel. 1..2..NO. At that moment, Karmen Petrovic appears on the entrance ramp. Bronco catches Bravo and Rayo to apply a double chokeslam on the commentary table, which is left shattered. Furious, El Grande Americano dives onto Bronco with a suicide dive. El Grande Americano returns to the ring, where he is surprised by Angel, first with a knee to the face, and then with a sit-out powerbomb. 1..2..NO.

Los Perros del Mal leave the ring victorious. Meanwhile, Dominik calmly retreats to the top of the entrance ramp. Suddenly, The Eye appears on the scene, with its members standing next to the AAA Megachampion. He shakes hands with Dorian Roldán and Omos, hinting at his alliance with the faction. The show concludes with a dejected and exhausted El Grande Americano watching the scene.
