Sheamus has finally started talking about his life after WWE, although he continues to keep the real reason for his departure to himself. In an interview with Adam's Apple, the former world champion did not confirm what his next step will be once he becomes a free agent, but he did make it clear that he is enjoying this break.

After nearly 20 years on the road with WWE, the Irishman explained that he is traveling with his wife, training, and spending more time with his family in Ireland. He assures that he is in the best physical shape of his life and that, for now, he is not in a rush to make a decision.

“I'm enjoying my free time. I'm having a good time. I'm taking my wife to Paris and coming back to Dublin to see the family. I'm enjoying my workouts. I feel like I'm in the best shape of my life and, yes, I'm in a very good moment. It's been amazing.”

When asked whether his departure from WWE was his decision or the company's, Sheamus did not want to give all the details. He only admitted that certain circumstances arose and recalled that since he left Ireland in 2007, he had not been able to return home as frequently as he would have liked.

“Certain circumstances arose. I can't talk much about it, obviously, but 19 years were a good stage. I left Ireland in 2007, so I haven't really had the luxury of going back home and seeing my family and friends.”

The Celtic Warrior also explained that this time away from WWE has allowed him to reconnect with his loved ones and recover birthdays and family moments that he had missed during his career. He remains under contract until October 1, the date when he is expected to officially become a free agent.

For now, Sheamus does not close the door on returning to the ring. He says he feels in great shape and leaves open the possibility that his next chapter may involve AEW, another promotion, or even stepping away from wrestling altogether.
