The CW and Netflix will air a new episode of WWE NXT tonight, with Vic Joseph and Booker T at the commentary table, live from the Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. The show will feature several matches and segments of interest, including the debut of Cruz Montana as a new talent for the brand.
Additionally, Myles Borne will defend the NXT North American Championship against Kam Hendrix. On the other hand, Shiloh Hill will seek revenge against Tristan Angels in a one-on-one match. As always, we invite you to comment on the article to give your opinion on what happened on the show.
WWE NXT begins on Netflix!
We see a video recap of last week's main event, which ended with Tony D'Angelo retaining the NXT Championship and the arrival of Mike Santana/Cruz Montana to the WWE development brand.
Grayson Waller storms into the ring to go into WWE Unreal mode. Now that he has a microphone on a live show, it's time to stir things up. Waller recalled his debut on the WWE main roster. That took place at Madison Square Garden just six weeks after breaking his leg at the NXT commentary table. Many would have been overwhelmed in his situation, but not him. Later, Grayson competed at WrestleMania 40, where he won the WWE Tag Team Championships in front of 60,000 people. "I felt on top of the world. Everything was going as planned. But then something changed. And I don't know what it was. It wasn't because of my work ethic or my talent. Maybe I was too honest. Maybe I didn't play politics. Maybe I didn't kiss the right behind. But the last two years of my career have been an absolute disgrace, and I'm man enough to admit it", he says.
Waller recalls spending a whole year carrying a 240-pound guy (referring to Austin Theory) to make him relevant again. "No matter how many ornaments or flourishes you put on it. In the end, that Marty Janetty is still allergic to the microphone", he says. Grayson goes on to comment on his last year as a professional, where he participated in an eternal funeral (referring to the latest story of The New Day in WWE). His job was to put on a ridiculous hat, take a microphone, and tell people how good other wrestlers were (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods). "The irony of all this is that I was dressed for a funeral, but what was dying was my career. But it's a new day (It's a New Day)", he says.
Grayson acknowledges that he could stay at home collecting a good paycheck while enjoying his free time, but he refuses to do so because he is in the best moment of his life, physically and mentally. However, to move forward, he has to deal with some demons, and one of them is the fact that he has not won the NXT Championship. A title that used to represent the best wrestler in the world, like Finn Bálor, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura, Seth Rollins, and Johnny Gargano. The NXT Championship represents the future of this business and has catapulted many to stardom. So much so that former champions like Trick Williams are treated like gods. "I never had it, that's why they treat me like a comedic pause in a Netflix ad. But that's over. I'm ready to conquer my demon. I announce that I am ready to take the NXT Title", he says.
The Australian wonders who could stand in his way. Cruz Montana? Grayson recalls his entrance from last week, believing he was the next big thing. However, Waller knows the fans at the Performance Center very well, and in a few weeks, they will forget about Montana because they will have found a new shiny toy to focus on. "But what really frustrates me is that Cruz was parading around as if he was going to challenge directly for the NXT Championship because he was number one in TNA. We're not in 2005, kid. Being number one in TNA is like being the best basketball player at the YMCA. You don't impress me", he says.
"And speaking of not being impressed, what about the champion? Hey, Tony D, why don't you do something? You finally had a chance to show the world what you can do because there was no one else left. So I'll do you a favor, Tony. I'll send you home with your ugly newborn baby. Go play daddy", he says. A production team member approaches the ring to indicate to Waller that he has run out of time. However, the Australian is far from finished. Grayson goes directly to Shawn Michaels, challenging him to silence him.
Waller continues his promo, as he still has things to say. "In fact, I have a message for the NXT roster. Hey, guys, put down your phones. I know you're probably recording a TikTok. Maybe you should watch the show to learn something. Because I just walked into your house, I haven't even wiped my feet, and everything I'm going to say will be with absolute disrespect. The NXT male roster is soft. You're lazy. You're complacent. You're happy to be here. I know that you, sacks of fat, would love to be like me. The women of NXT run this place above you. And yet, 90% of you think you should be promoted tomorrow. But this is reality. When I look at that roster, maybe only 10% are ready... and they're all women", he says.
Grayson points out that many of the talents who go through tryouts show passion and effort, but they end up relaxing when they get a spot in NXT. They simply put "WWE Superstar" on their Instagram profiles, play wrestler for six months, and then spend the rest of the time injured. Then we have the independent scene wrestlers. Talents that surprise with their incredible performances in the ring. "But when you put a microphone in their hands, all that energy leaves the place because they are a bunch of charisma vacuums", he says.
Waller is convinced that Shawn Michaels is smiling inside because finally someone is telling the truth. Grayson believes that the male division has been ready for someone to take the reins for months, but no one has done anything about it, so he will. "I will come, I will take the title and the opportunity. I will take any opportunity that any of you had planned, because unfortunately, this is a roster that is embarrassing. I'm starting to remember who Grayson Waller is. I'm the most underestimated guy on this roster. I'm the best in every way. I am...", says the Australian when the microphone is silenced from the control room. Waller steps down from the ring to address the camera directly. "I don't need a microphone. If you don't want to give me a chance, WWE? I'll take it. Consider the waters stirred", says Grayson. The production team cuts the broadcast to end the segment.
Tavion Heights and Myles Borne converse backstage about Grayson Waller's promo. However, they have more important things to worry about at the moment. Tavion trusts Myles to take care of Kam Hendrix tonight. Thus, next week they can snatch the Tag Team Championships from The Vanity Project and show the world that they are the face of NXT. Mason Rook approaches them to ask if they are willing to let Waller belittle and insult them. The Brit is tired of people not taking the NXT male division seriously. And that's why tonight he's going to finish off Hendrix. Myles knows that Kam is a toxic guy, but he hopes Mason doesn't interfere in his match. "No. I'm ready to kick his butt," says Rook. Tavion assures Borne that he will personally make sure Mason doesn't do anything about it. "Is that true?" asks Rook before leaving.
Lizzy Rain vs. Izzi Dame (with Niko Vance)
Both women struggle. Izzi takes Lizzy to the ropes, where she applies a chop. Dame tries to repeat the move on the opposite side, but the Brit dodges the chop to respond with one of her own. The action continues with Dame knocking down her opponent with an elbow. Rain seeks height for her next attack, but Dame makes her fall. Izzi finishes her off with a clothesline.
Dame applies a powerslam to her rival. 1..2..NO. Rain responds with a spinning heel kick. Lizzy continues her assault, which ends with her opponent at ringside. Izzi blocks a Rope Dropkick to respond with a big boot. Dame takes her rival back into the ring to execute a series of corner spears. Izzi continues punishing Rain. She makes her stumble before applying a chop block. After that, she executes a headbutt. Izzi blocks a suplex to respond with one of her own. 1..2..NO.
Dame kicks the Brit's face before catching her in a crossface. Lizzy frees herself to start an exchange of attacks with her rival. Rain kicks Dame's head from the apron before launching a Missile Dropkick. Lizzy continues attacking Izzi until she knocks her down with a suplex. The Brit unleashes a rain of chops in one of the corners. "Make it rain!", chant the fans with each blow. Dame pushes her rival aside to surprise her with a diving facebreaker. Rain counters with a tremendous right hand.
Lizzy surprises Dame with a superkick. After that, she leans on the ropes to apply her next move. However, Izzi blocks her to execute a sit-out powerbomb. 1..2..NO. Dame and Rain exchange attacks. Lizzy surprises Izzi with a backslide. 1..2..NO. Dame charges against the Brit. As a result, both fall out of the ring. Izzi continues attacking Rain, whom she tries to throw against the metal stairs. However, it is the Brit who pushes her opponent against them.
Lizzy takes Izzi back into the ring to knock her down with a suplex. Dame responds with a crucifix bomb. 1..2..NO. "This is amazing!", chant the fans. Izzi stands up the Brit to execute a big boot. Rain surprises Dame with a Stunner before applying a flying headbutt. Lizzy prepares to finish her off, at which point Vance climbs onto the apron to get her attention.
Rain tries to slap Niko, but he stops the European's hand. After that, he turns her around so Dame can apply a big boot. Izzi laughs. Suddenly, something catches her attention. Dame points in the direction of her partner, who soon turns to find Shawn Spears, armed with a metal chair. Spears threatens to attack Vance, who retreats to the apron. Izzi's distraction allows Rain to surprise her with the Thunderstruck. 1..2..3.
Winner: Lizzy Rain
Romeo Moreno (wearing the Spanish National Football Team shirt) and Noam Dar welcome Cruz Montana to NXT. "Cruz in NXT! Whatever, we're here for you. Because the world is yours," says Romeo in Spanish. Montana thanks him for his words, also congratulating him on Spain's victory in the World Cup and his good work as a team in NXT. Saquon Shugars approaches the Europeans. Noam and Romeo lament last week's defeat. Saquon has nothing to blame them for. They helped him, and even though they couldn't win, at least he could kick Dion Lennox's butt. Moreno points out that they can repeat it whenever he wants. Shugars is ready to accept his offer, but Noam takes his partner away from the place. Saquon is left alone with Cruz. He recalls that the last time they met, he kicked his butt at Madison Square Garden. Shugars notes that he is no longer the same man. He has changed and can prove it. But first, he must finish his business with his former DarkState teammates. Montana is about to leave when he comes face to face with Kelani Jordan. She advises the former TNA World Champion to think twice before signing his contract with NXT, as this is a very unfair workplace for people like them. Jordan lists all the times she has been disrespected. Kelani turns around while still talking. Cruz realizes this and takes advantage of the moment to leave the place. Jordan turns around again, only to realize she is alone. "Of course. Ignore me like everyone else does. You're in the right place," says Kelani.
We see The Vanity Project gathered with Robert Stone in his office. Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes confront the General Manager for giving away title opportunities. Stone asks them if they are afraid. Baylor makes it clear that they are not. They fear no one, especially not Tavion Heights and Myles Borne, who have not worked as a team for months. They, on the other hand, have been the best since day one. Jackson Drake states that Borne asked to face Kam Hendrix because he knew he couldn't beat him. But it doesn't matter because sooner or later, the North American Championship will be around his waist, just like the tag team titles will remain with his partners next week. Keanu Carver appears on the scene, which quickly leads The Vanity Project members to leave the place. All except Myka Lockwood, who keeps looking at Carver with a slight smile on her face. "Myka, are you ready?" asks Jackson. "Now I am," Lockwood replies before following her partner.
Carver approaches Stone, who quickly takes the floor. The NXT General Manager understands that Keanu is upset about what happened last week with EK Prosper, and he's sorry. "Relax, Stone. All I want is a match against him next week," says a calm Carver. "Just that?" asks Robert. "Just that," Carver replies. "Done," says Stone. "I appreciate it, Stone," says Carver as he shakes his hand. Keanu leaves, at which point Stone receives a phone call from Grayson Waller. "I need you to come back to the building. We're not done," says the General Manager before hanging up.
Lola Vice delivers a video promo before her match next week. Lola assures that Kendal Grey has no idea what it means to enter a cage, be knocked out, and humiliated. She had to learn it the hard way. After that, she joined the most competitive women's division in the world to prove to the world that she is the toughest woman in professional wrestling. And not satisfied with that, she also traveled to Mexico to compete in AAA. That's when she became "undeniable". Vice insists that Grey will dominate the NXT women's division, but not while she's there. Next week, an amateur fighter will compete in a real fight. "In the Underground, I have the advantage. Next week, I will expose Kendal Grey, and once I knock her out, she will be left with great resentment, and I will be a two-time NXT Women's Champion", she says.
Thea Hail congratulates Jaida Parker on her victory last week. Parker thanks Hail for her help, despite admitting she hasn't been the best locker room teammate. "If anyone understands what it means to be here, it's me. It's hard, it's vulnerable. Sometimes you can feel a little alone," says Thea. Jaida points out that's exactly how Nattie made her feel. That's why she was happy to have someone watching her back. Hail explains that Robert Stone finally gave her five minutes of his time. The General Manager informed her that Nattie is furious, which is why she'll have to face Nikkita Lyons and Karmen Petrovic in a tag team match next week. "It'll be easy for us," says Jaida. "Us?" asks Thea. Parker offers to be her tag team partner. "You've been the most trustworthy person in this locker room I've met. And I appreciate that. You watch my back, and I'll watch yours," says Parker. An emotional Thea hugs Jaida. "Are we hugging?" asks a smiling yet slightly awkward Parker as the segment comes to an end.
NXT North American Championship Match
Myles Borne (c) vs. Kam Hendrix
Both men lock up, taking the action toward the ropes. Kam shoves the champion, who immediately fires back. Hendrix kicks Myles in the stomach before trapping him in a wristlock. Myles escapes and takes the challenger down. Now it's Borne who applies a wristlock. Kam lands a right hand to break free. Hendrix follows up with a powerslam to stay on the offensive.
Myles catches Kam off guard with a dropkick. Hendrix rolls out to ringside, where he's taken down by a spinning tope. Borne looks to return to the ring, but Kam grabs his legs and drops him onto the apron. The challenger continues the attack. Borne sends his opponent crashing into one of the ring posts to regain control. The champion brings Hendrix back inside the ring.
Myles connects with an uppercut before sending Kam into the corner. Hendrix unleashes a quick combination of strikes to turn the tide. Kam drops the champion face-first onto the top turnbuckle. Hendrix continues striking his opponent while he's down. Kam hoists Myles onto his right shoulder before planting him with a chokeslam. 1...2...NO.
Hendrix traps Borne in a headlock. Myles tries to fight free, but Kam drives him back to the mat. Kam lands an elbowdrop. 1...2...NO. Hendrix reapplies the hold. Kam delivers a clothesline straight to the back of his opponent's neck. 1...2...NO. Myles fights back, leading to a striking exchange before dropping Kam with a body drop.
Borne surprises Kam with a scoop powerslam. Hendrix blocks a Borne Again and answers with a crossbody. The action continues. Kam rolls out to ringside. Borne looks for a suicide dive, but Hendrix cuts him off with a right hand. At that moment, Mason Rook appears on the entrance ramp. Tavion quickly steps in to confront him. Meanwhile, Borne survives a kick straight to the head. Kam sets up for his next attack, but Myles counters and connects with a Borne Again. 1...2...3.
Winner and STILL NXT North American Champion: Myles Borne
Heights steps aside as Rook rushes into the ring to attack Kam. Mason blasts Hendrix with a clothesline, sending him over the top rope. The two men brawl all the way to the backstage area. Meanwhile, Tavion approaches Myles to congratulate him. Suddenly, The Vanity Project storm the ring!
Jackson Drake, Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes launch a three-on-two assault on Myles and Tavion. Smokes climbs to the top turnbuckle while Baylor and Drake restrain their opponents. Borne breaks free from Jackson and shoves Ricky, sending him crashing to ringside. Myles and Heights mount a comeback, clearing Drake and Brad from the ring. The members of The Vanity Project are left laid out while Tavion and Borne remain standing near the ropes. The segment comes to an end.
Emily Agard interviews Lizzy Rain, who is enjoying some KFC Popcorn Chicken. The Brit says it was Shiloh Hill who recommended she try them. Without a doubt, they're the perfect fuel to recharge after a match. That said, Rain hopes her issues with Izzi Dame are finally behind her. As for what's next, Lizzy says she'll be keeping a close eye on next week's NXT Underground Match. Tristan Angels interrupts the interview to express his disappointment that Rain continues to look up to Hill. Doesn't she like tea or sandwiches? "Once I teach him a lesson tonight, maybe you'll reconsider who your role model is around here," says Tristan before walking away. Rain tells Emily to ignore her fellow countryman before offering to share her Popcorn Chicken with her.
OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price) are getting ready for tonight's match when Los Garza appear. A smiling Nima asks them what they're doing there. "It doesn't matter where you go, we'll always be there. Because a dog never walks alone. Remember: God forgives, the Dogs don't," Angel replies. Bronco bumps fists with Angel and Berto before heading toward the ring. Meanwhile, Price silently exchanges stares with Los Garza.
Zaria approaches Robert Stone to ask about her next challenger when Wren Sinclair walks in. Sinclair also wants to know when she'll find out who her next challenger will be. Zaria points out that the North American Championship ranks above the WWE Speed Championship. Stone tells Wren that he still has to organize the tournament that will determine her next challenger. Zaria insists on finding out who she'll defend against next. "Why don't you face me?" Wren asks. She imagines what it would be like to become a double champion in NXT before Zaria steps up to her. Stone calms things down by proposing a solution. Next week, Wren will defend the WWE Women's Speed Championship against Zaria. If Zaria wins, Sinclair will receive an NXT North American Championship opportunity the following week. Both women agree to the proposal. "Your days are numbered," the Australian tells Wren before walking away.
Tag Team Match
OTM (Bronco Nima and Lucien Price) vs. BirthRight (Uriah Connors and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo) (w/ Arianna Grace, Charlie Dempsey and Lexis King)
Nima and Connors start things off. Bronco quickly drives Uriah face-first into the mat. Lorenzo tags himself in, only to fall into the clutches of his opponent. "Stacks" immediately tags Connors back in. Nima catches Uriah before heading to his corner to bring in Lucien, who continues the assault. Connors lands a thunderous chop on Lucien, but Price doesn't even flinch. Lucien returns the favor with a much more powerful chop.
Bronco tags back in to continue the match. Connors rolls out of the ring, with Nima giving chase. Uriah gets back inside and tags "Stacks," but Bronco doesn't notice. Connors drops to his knees and begs Nima for mercy, allowing Lorenzo to blindside him with a chop block. Connors and Lorenzo attempt a double suplex, but Bronco counters by suplexing both men instead. Bronco sends Connors out of the ring while Lucien crushes "Stacks" with a devastating knee strike to the face. OTM then launch Lorenzo onto his teammates at ringside. The fans chant, "Holy sh*t!"
Channing gets back into the ring, where Lucien crushes him with a huge corner clothesline. OTM follow up with stereo punches to Lorenzo. Nima hoists Channing onto his shoulders before kicking Uriah off the apron. He then plants "Stacks" with a backbreaker. Bronco sends his opponent into the ropes, looking for a kick, but Uriah pulls his partner out of the way just in time. Nima tweaks his right leg, allowing "Stacks" to capitalize with a facebreaker. Lorenzo tags Connors, who unleashes a flurry of offense on Bronco.
The members of BirthRight take turns wearing Bronco down. Lorenzo traps Nima in a grounded headlock. Bronco escapes "Stacks," who immediately tags Connors back in. Lorenzo and Uriah combine for a tandem attack. Uriah follows up with a Swanton Bomb. 1...2...NO. The action spills into BirthRight's corner, where Bronco finally creates some separation. Nima crushes Channing with a stomp before tagging in Lucien, who storms into the match.
Price ducks a kick from "Stacks," causing Lorenzo to accidentally strike his own partner. At that moment, Los Garza make their way out. Lexis King and Charlie Dempsey warn them not to get any closer. Bronco heads toward Los Garza to prevent a confrontation. Meanwhile, Arianna distracts Lucien by grabbing his legs. Uriah takes advantage with a superkick. Connors and Lorenzo hit their tandem finisher on Price. 1...2...3. Bronco rushes back to the ring, but he's too late to break up the pinfall.

Nima helps an angry Price back to his feet. Los Garza join Bronco, frustrating Lucien even more. Nima continues apologizing to his partner as the segment comes to an end.
Kendal Grey stars in a video package ahead of her title defense against Lola Vice. Grey admits that next week she'll compete in the biggest match of her career, fully aware that her opponent is undefeated in Underground Matches. That's why she decided to return to her roots, training once again with her father, Ely Prussin. Grey says the greatest lesson her father ever taught her is that a person's biggest opponent is themselves. Kendal acknowledges that she's the underdog heading into this match, but those are the situations where she always rises above. That's how she became the 2025 Iron Survivor. Even so, she knows she'll need extra help. That's why she called one of her best coaches: WWE Superstar Julius Creed. Julius says Kendal possesses the qualities that define true champions: grit, toughness, and determination. Because of that, he'll be watching her retain her title next week. Kendal reveals that Julius was the one who brought her to WWE because he saw something in her before anyone else did. Creed knows she's ready for next week. Now it's her turn to show Lola—and the entire world—what he already knows. "Lola Vice versus Kendal Grey. The best against the best. She thinks she's the best, but I know it's me. We'll find out in the Underground," Kendal says to close the video.
Kali Armstrong complains that she isn't the challenger for the NXT Women's Championship. A battered Izzi Dame reminds her that she just arrived in NXT. "You and Lizzy need to wait your turn," she says. Kelani Jordan joins the conversation to make it clear to both Armstrong and Dame that she'll be the one to become NXT Women's Champion, no matter who survives next week's Underground Match. Reina Volcan then walks into the scene. "This women's division isn't being rebuilt. It's being recharged," she says before walking away.
Shiloh Hill vs. Tristan Angels
Tristan looks to surprise Shiloh with a right hand, but Hill blocks it. Hill takes Angels down with a body drop before connecting with a clothesline. Tristan catches Hill with a strike to the neck. Shiloh answers with a shoulderbreaker. 1...2...NO. Hill keeps up the pressure, flooring the Brit with a shoulder tackle. Angels rolls out to ringside. Shiloh quickly follows, only to be planted with a neckbreaker onto the floor.
Angels brings Hill back into the ring and kicks him in the head. 1...2...NO. Tristan delivers a suplex before locking in a sleeper hold. Hill powers his opponent onto his shoulders before falling backward onto the mat, finally breaking free. Angels catches Hill with a Rope Guillotine and follows with an elbowdrop. 1...2...NO. Shiloh tries to recover, but Tristan knocks him down with a back elbow.
Angels traps Hill in a straight jacket. Shiloh escapes, only to be caught with a backstabber across the ropes. Hill fires back, trading strikes with the Brit. Hill drops Tristan with a spinning powerslam before following up with a spinning senton. 1...2...NO. Hill takes his opponent to the top turnbuckle. Angels knocks him down before diving off with a diving crossbody. However, Shiloh catches him in mid-air and turns it into a bodyslam. 1...2...NO.
The action continues. Tristan kicks Hill in the corner before connecting with a superplex. 1...2...NO. Angels slaps Shiloh across the face. Hill responds furiously, sending his opponent to ringside. Tristan trips Hill into the announce table before throwing him into the steel steps. Angels tries to smash Hill's face into the steps, but Shiloh avoids the knee at the last second. Hill answers with a powerbomb onto the announce table. The table doesn't break, prompting the fans to chant for him to do it again.
Hill rolls his opponent back into the ring. Tristan catches him with a roll-up while grabbing the ropes for extra leverage. The referee begins the count but quickly spots the cheating. The action moves to the second rope. Shiloh catches Angels and plants him with a neckbreaker off the second rope. 1...2...3.
Winner: Shiloh Hill
Cruz Montana makes his entrance through the crowd. The former TNA World Champion grabs a microphone. The fans chant, "Montana! Montana!" Cruz announces that he is officially an NXT Superstar. Montana admits there was a time when he wasn't sure he'd live to see another day. He acknowledges making many mistakes in the past—so many bad decisions that he believed his dream was over. Then everything changed. His daughter inspired that change because he wanted her to be proud of her father. Cruz says that ever since then, he's taken advantage of every opportunity that has come his way.
Montana thanks TNA Wrestling for the incredible opportunity they gave him. Now he's in NXT, but he wants to make one thing clear: nobody handed him anything. This is the opportunity he's chased his entire life. Cruz recalls appearing in NXT last year, when he wanted to prove who he was. Now he's here to become the NXT Champion. Montana then addresses Grayson Waller, who had something to say about him earlier in the night. Cruz has no intention of responding from afar. He'll do it face-to-face when the Australian is standing in front of him.
Tony D'Angelo interrupts the promo!
D'Angelo enters the ring to welcome Montana. Tony introduces himself as the NXT Champion. Over the years, he's seen plenty of talents like Cruz arrive in NXT claiming they'll change the business. But he doesn't want Montana to misunderstand him, because he actually believes everything Cruz has said. Everything... except one thing: Montana won't take his spot because the NXT Championship isn't going anywhere. "I'm gonna stop you right there," Cruz says. "How about I show you exactly how I'm going to take that spot?" he asks the champion. Montana tosses the microphone aside and spreads his arms in front of Tony. Suddenly, Grayson Waller storms into the ring and shoves Montana, sending him crashing into D'Angelo!
Grayson blasts Montana with a right hand, sending him into the corner. The Australian turns toward Tony, but the champion grabs hold of him. D'Angelo looks for a chokeslam, but Waller escapes with an eye poke followed by a knee to the face. Montana goes for a Spin the Block. Grayson moves out of the way at the last second, causing the move to hit a blinded Tony instead. Waller escapes to ringside.
