Tonight, a new edition of WWE SummerSlam takes place. On its second night, the event features six matches, four of them championship bouts. The standout contest will see Roman Reigns face Seth Rollins with the World Heavyweight Championship on the line. Solowrestling will provide live coverage, which you can follow in this article. WWE SummerSlam begins on Netflix!
Darius Rucker sings the national anthem of the United States.
We see the arrival of some of tonight's protagonists at the venue: Danhausen, Dominik Mysterio, Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Chelsea Green, Tiffany Stratton, Lash Legend, Trick Williams, Baron Corbin, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns.
Finn Bálor and Sami Zayn make their entrance to compete in the first match of the night. But before the referee can ring the bell, Nick Aldis appears on the entrance ramp. The Briton reminds everyone that he has been reinstated as the General Manager of SmackDown. And as such, he has made an administrative decision regarding this match by adding a third participant. It's Gunther, who doesn't take long to make his entrance. Smiling, the Austrian shakes hands with Aldis. "The Ring General" heads to the ring, where a furious Sami expresses his displeasure. With Gunther already in the ring, Aldis speaks again. The General Manager points out that he never said the match was a triple threat because there is a fourth participant to add.
Kevin Owens makes his entrance!
The crowd goes wild with KO's return. Some fans can't hold back their tears. We see Sami in disbelief as his lifelong friend heads into the ring. Owens takes his time to enter the ring, savoring the tremendous pop his appearance has generated. With all four men in the ring, it's time to start the match.
Four-way fatal match for a shot at the WWE Undisputed Championship
Sami Zayn vs. Finn Bálor vs. Gunther vs. Kevin Owens
Kevin quickly goes after Gunther. After hitting him several times, it's Finn's turn. The Europeans end up lying in opposite corners. Owens launches a corner cannonball on each of them. KO approaches Sami. Both men observe each other before embracing. Then, they begin exchanging attacks. Owens knocks down Sami before crushing him with a senton. Kevin throws him to ringside, where Finn and Gunther are already. Owens seeks height in one of the corners to jump on all of them with a Swanton Bomb.
Owens brings Gunther back into the ring to execute another Swanton Bomb. Kevin prepares to finish him off with a Stunner, but the Austrian blocks it to apply a sleeperhold. Sami returns to attack Gunther from behind. Now it's Finn who surprises Zayn, trying to apply an inverted DDT, but Gunther prevents it with a big boot.
Finn and Gunther exchange attacks. Bálor surprises the Austrian with an inverted DDT. 1..2..NO. Gunther recovers to apply a chop to the Irishman, who counters with a slingblade. Sami returns to the ring, only to receive another slingblade. Finn performs a Shotgun Dropkick on Zayn, who collides with Gunther in one of the corners. Bálor seeks height to jump with a Coup de Grace. Gunther moves aside just in time to respond with a dropkick, followed by a powerbomb. 1..2..NO. Gunther applies a Boston Crab to the Irishman. Owens returns to launch an assault on Gunther, freeing Finn in the process.
Kevin seeks height for his next move, at which point Finn kicks him. The Irishman prepares to execute a superplex. However, Owens blocks it to apply a Death Valley Driver from the second rope. Sami takes advantage of the situation to expel Kevin from the ring and cover Finn. 1...2...NO. The action moves to the top of one of the corners. Bálor makes Sami fall before preparing for his next attack. Owens returns to hit the Irishman, who falls to ringside.
Kevin climbs to the top of the corner to perform a Swanton Bomb on Zayn, but he stops him with his knees. Sami seems concerned about his friend's condition, but soon decides he must finish him off. Zayn takes a distance. Sami runs towards KO to execute a Helluva Kick, but Gunther stops him with a sleeperhold. The Austrian takes Zayn to the mat to reinforce the hold, at which point Bálor crushes them with a Coup de Grace.
Owens returns to perform a Stunner on Finn, followed by another on Gunther. Kevin tries to apply the same move on Sami, but he blocks it to respond with a Blue Thunder Bomb. 1..2..NO. Kevin takes refuge in one of the corners. Zayn runs towards him with the intention of finishing him off with a Helluva Kick, but KO stops him with a superkick. After that, he finishes Sami with a Stunner. 1..2..3.

United States Championship Match
Trick Williams (c) (with Lil Yachty) vs. Baron Corbin
Williams attacks Baron before the referee can ring the bell. Trick slaps Corbin with the back of his hand before unleashing a flurry of kicks in one of the corners. Williams expels his rival from the ring. Trick goes after him to throw him against the audience barrier. Williams pulls out a table from under the ring, which he places next to it. Baron heads to the opposite side of the ring. Trick runs towards Baron, at which point he surprises him with the Deep Six.
Baron continues to punish the champion, whom he throws against the metal stairs. Corbin returns to the ring to interrupt the referee's count of ten. Trick doesn't take long to follow his rival's steps, but he jumps on him to receive a rain of punches and elbows. Fans boo Baron. He takes Williams to one of the corners to continue his offensive. Corbin knocks down the champion on the mat to unleash another flurry of punches on his back and neck.
The action moves to the ropes area. Champion and challenger exchange attacks. Baron attacks Williams directly in the eyes to make him fall out of the ring. Corbin gets off the ring with the intention of going after the champion, but an annoyed Lil Yachty stands in front of him to confront him. Corbin grabs the rapper to push him violently against the audience barrier. Yachty grabs his kendo stick to threaten Baron, who has no choice but to retreat back into the ring. Once there, he falls into the clutches of a recovered Trick.
Williams launches an assault on his opponent, whom he finishes off with an uranage. 1..2..NO. Trick carries Baron on his shoulders, but Corbin attacks him directly in the eyes to free himself. The referee approaches Trick, at which point Yachty hits Baron's back with the kendo stick. Williams finishes off a sore Corbin with a Death Valley Driver. 1..2..NO. The champion prepares to execute his Trick Shot. Baron dodges it to look for the Deep Six, but Williams also blocks it. Baron surprises his rival with a big boot before preparing the End of Days. However, the champion escapes his clutches to respond with a spinning kick. 1..2..NO.
Corbin dodges a Trick Shot in the corner to respond with a Rope Guillotine. The referee assists Williams. Meanwhile, Baron gets off the ring to go after the United States Championship. Lil Yachty tries to take it away. Both men struggle on the apron when Trick attacks Corbin. He releases the rapper, who ends up falling on the table, which is shattered. The official approaches the ropes to check on Yachty's condition. Baron takes advantage to hit the champion's head with his own title. After that, he finishes him off with the infallible End of Days. 1..2..3.

Ladder Match for the WWE Women's Interim Championship
Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill vs. Charlotte Flair vs. Chelsea Green vs. Lash Legend
Jade attacks Charlotte before she can enter the ring, thus starting the match. Both women exchange attacks in front of one of the ladders. Meanwhile, we see Lash at ringside. Stratton jumps on Legend with a hurricanrana, but she blocks it to respond with a powerbomb on one of the ladders. Chelsea jumps on Legend with a suicide dive. Lash stops her in mid-air to push her against the same ladder as her partner. Legend introduces that same ladder into the ring before throwing Chelsea over the audience barrier.
Lash returns to the ring, where she meets Flair. Legend blocks a handspring clothesline to respond with a powerslam. Charlotte's back hits the ladder introduced by her rival. Legend tries to set up the ladder in the center of the ring, but Jade prevents it. Both women face off in the ring, at which point Chelsea and Tiffany jump on them. Green and Stratton unleash a rain of punches on Lash and Cargill in opposite corners. Legend and Jade free themselves from the pressure of their attackers to knock them out with a pump kick in parallel.
Cargill gets rid of Lash with a release german suplex, at which point Charlotte jumps with a diving crossbody on the former. "The Queen" grabs a ladder with which she hits Jade, who ends up at ringside. Flair places the ladder on the second rope in one of the corners. Lash returns to execute a Gorilla Press Slam on Flair, who ends up at ringside. Legend places a ladder under the championship and prepares to ascend, but Stratton returns to surprise her with a facebreaker.
Charlotte returns to face Tiffany. Both exchange attacks in the center of the ring. Flair traps the United States Champion to apply a faceplant on the ladder supported by the ropes in the corner. Charlotte turns, only to receive a Missile Dropkick from Green. Stratton takes her revenge on "The Queen," making her fall on the supported ladder. Chelsea starts climbing the ladder set up by Legend, but Cargill prevents her from reaching her destination. "The Storm" applies a Jaded on Green on the corner ladder.
Cargill starts climbing the central ladder. Tiffany returns to thwart her plans with a backstabber. Now it's Stratton who starts climbing the ladder. Charlotte returns to make her fall. Legend returns to the ring with another ladder, which she intends to use as a weapon. However, Tiffany starts hitting her. Little by little, Stratton corners Lash in one of the corners, with the ladder leaning against the ropes. Stratton climbs the ladder, ready to apply a hurricanrana, but Legend blocks her to execute a powerbomb. Tiffany's back hits the metal. Stratton writhes in pain.
Charlotte climbs the central ladder to reach the championship, which she is about to unhook. At that moment, Jade removes the ladders, leaving "The Queen" hanging from the hook. Flair loses strength and falls on the mat, where Cargill and Legend await her. Jade catches Charlotte to throw her against a ladder. Immediately after, Lash surprises "The Storm" with a pump kick. Legend places a ladder under the championship and starts climbing.
Tiffany returns to climb the ladder, thus preventing Lash from reaching the gold. Legend catches Stratton, ready to apply a new powerbombhurricanrana. Lash hits the ladder. Tiffany climbs the central ladder again. Suddenly, Chelsea returns to the ring. "I'm sorry," says the Canadian before pushing the ladder. Tiffany falls on the rest of the opponents, on whom she performs an improvised Swanton Bomb. The four women remain lying at ringside.
Green sets up the ladder to start her ascent. "Chelsea, Chelsea!" the fans chant. Suddenly, B-Fab and Michin burst into the ring to attack the Canadian, who ends up hanging by her legs on the ladder. The fans boo. Michin and B-Fab bring Jade back into the ring. Michin sets up a second ladder for his leader to climb. At that moment, a furious Charlotte returns to get rid of Michin and B-Fab.
Flair climbs the second ladder to exchange attacks with Jade. Meanwhile, Stratton and Legend set up a third ladder, on which they climb while fighting. Cargill pushes the ladder so that Legend and Stratton fall on the third rope. "The Storm" tries to reach the championship, but Charlotte prevents it. Both women knock each other down. Green recovers and starts climbing. The fans go wild. The Canadian reaches the top of the ladder. With the competition out of the game, Green just has to unhook the belt.
Winner and WWE Women's Interim Champion: CHELSEA GREEN
Chelsea poses with the title on the ladder to a great ovation. Fireworks resonate in the venue to round off the Canadian's celebration.
Human Monies on a Pole Match
Danhausen vs. Dominik Mysterio
Dominik jumps on Danhausen to hit him. Then, he heads directly to the corner with the money bag. However, Danhausen prevents him from reaching the bag. Mysterio pushes Danhausen against the ropes to execute a 619, but his opponent dodges the impact just in time. Danhausen surprises Dom with a suplex before crushing him repeatedly against one of the corners.
Mysterio dodges one of Danhausen's charges to respond with a lariat. Dominik performs The Three Amigos, but Danhausen blocks the third suplex to respond with an inverted DDT. Danhausen climbs the corner, at which point JD McDonagh appears. The Irishman makes Danhausen fall, on whom he launches an offensive. McDonagh finishes him off with a moonsault.
The Minihausens burst into the ring to attack JD, but he doesn't take long to deal with them. However, one of them surprises the Irishman with quick and effective attacks in pure wrestling style. This Minihausen knocks down McDonagh with a beautifully executed DDT. The Minihausens work together to reach the money bag, but a recovered Mysterio prevents them. The skilled Minihausen jumps on Dom with a hurricanrana. Mysterio ends up at ringside, where he receives the impact of a tope.
Danhausen returns to the ring with the goal of reaching the money bag, but McDonagh prevents him with a headbutt. JD expels Danhausen from the ring. The Irishman approaches Dom to indicate that he should recover the money. Meanwhile, he immobilizes Danhausen on the apron to prevent him from thwarting his plans. However, something happens.
Say his name and he appears!
Joe Hendry makes his way to the stage. McDonagh heads out to confront the Scotsman, only for Hendry to smash a guitar right across his back. Joe runs to the ring to rally Danhausen. He and Dominik make their way toward the corner with the bag of cash. Both men struggle for possession. Dom knocks his opponent down, causing him to land groin-first on the top rope. Mysterio reaches for the money bag, but Danhausen curses him. "You...are...cursed!" he exclaims, with the crowd joining in. Suddenly, the turnbuckle pyro goes off, blinding the AAA Mega Champion, who crashes to the mat. Danhausen retrieves the money bag.
Winner: Danhausen
Danhausen celebrates in the ring alongside Hendry and the Minihausens. He then heads to ringside, walks along the crowd barricade, and tosses some of the cash from the bag to the fans. Danhausen keeps the rest for himself before making his way back backstage.
Intercontinental Championship Match
Penta (c) vs. Chad Gable
Both men carefully size each other up. Chad and Penta shake hands as a sign of respect. Champion and challenger begin with a feeling-out process. Gable catches Penta with a spinning kick. The Mexican responds with a superkick before delivering a backbreaker. 1..2..NO. Penta traps Chad in the ropes and delivers a chop. Penta rebounds off the ropes to launch himself at Gable, but Chad catches him in mid-air and responds with three consecutive German suplex holds. 1..2..NO.
Gable blocks a backstabber and takes the champion down. Chad heads to the top rope for a moonsault, but the Mexican catches him with a superkick. 1..2..NO. Penta takes Chad into the corner and sets up for the Pendulum, but Gable counters into an Ankle Lock. Penta kicks his opponent away, sending him to the floor, then follows up with a tope. The champion brings Chad back into the ring and plants him with a Penta Driver. 1..2..NO.
Both men exchange strikes in the middle of the ring. Penta surprises Chad with a superkick. The Mexican charges, but Gable stops him with a Belly-to-Belly Suplex. Chad climbs to the top rope, but Penta catches him with both arms and legs spread wide. Penta delivers the Sacrifice before going for the cover. 1..2..NO. Gable appears to have injured his left arm.
Penta targets Chad's injured arm while Gable kneels on the mat. "I'm sorry, Chad. I'm sorry," the Mexican says before blasting him with a superkick. Penta sets up for a Mexican Destroyer, but Gable counters into an Ankle Lock. The masked wrestler escapes, and the action spills onto the apron.
Gable delivers a German suplex to his opponent on the apron. The Mexican crashes to ringside. Chad climbs to the top rope and launches a moonsault onto the champion. He rolls Penta back into the ring and follows with a diving headbutt. 1..2..NO. Chad continues clutching his injured left arm. The action returns to the apron, where Penta catches the challenger with a Mexican Destroyer. The masked wrestler covers him. 1..2..NO.
Penta prepares for another Mexican Destroyer. However, his opponent blocks it and transitions into an Ankle Lock. Penta crawls toward the ropes, barely reaching them with his fingertips. Gable drags him back to the center of the ring and cinches in the hold even tighter on the mat. Unable to withstand the pain any longer, Penta taps out.
Winner by submission and NEW Intercontinental Champion: CHAD GABLE
Sitting in the corner, Gable can't hold back his tears. The referee hands him the championship. Chad wipes his eyes while clutching the title. Penta approaches to help him to his feet, then takes the championship from his hands—only to fasten it around Gable's waist. The Mexican congratulates Gable on his victory before raising his arm in a show of respect. Penta leaves the ring as Chad's family makes their way to the ringside area.
Gable takes a microphone. "You deserve it!" chants the crowd. "My name is Chad Gable. I was born, raised, and still live in Minneapolis, Minnesota. And this is my family, who has stood by me through the good times and the bad, every step of the journey that has led me to this moment, where I can finally say: I AM THE INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION!" he proclaims. Chad poses once again with the championship as fireworks explode throughout the arena. He celebrates in true "Stone Cold" Steve Austin fashion with two cans of Mug Root Beer before posing once more with the title as the segment comes to an end.
Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings player and SummerSlam host, addresses the fans from atop the Spanish announce table to introduce the night's main event.
World Heavyweight Championship Match
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Seth Rollins
Seth offers Roman his The Shield-inspired jacket, but the champion ignores him. Both men step toward each other to exchange a few final words. Reigns and Rollins lock up. Roman backs Seth into the corner, forcing the referee to intervene. Rollins returns the favor in the opposite corner.
Seth traps Reigns in a headlock. The Samoan breaks free and floors the challenger with a shoulder tackle. The action continues. Rollins catches Roman with a slingblade. Seth drives Reigns into the corner and unleashes a flurry of offense. Roman tries to answer back, but his rival knocks him down. Rollins lands a superkick on the champion and crushes him against the turnbuckles. Reigns avoids another charge and responds with a clothesline.
Roman unleashes a barrage of corner clotheslines before dropping his opponent with a big boot. Seth avoids a Superman Punch and sends the champion to the outside. Rollins follows with three consecutive suicide dives. "The Visionary" clears off the Spanish announce table before returning to the ring. Seth builds momentum for another suicide dive, but Roman cuts him off with a right hand. Reigns delivers a Drive By to Seth before throwing him over the crowd barricade.
Both men continue brawling in the stands. Roman smashes Rollins' head into a metal barrier. Seth grabs a crowd barricade and drives it into Reigns' midsection. "The OTC" delivers a suplex to "The Visionary," sending him crashing onto a metal platform. Roman then sets up for a spear near the crowd barricade, but Seth intercepts him with a kick.
The action returns to ringside. Rollins lands a diving knee drop on the Samoan. Seth creates some distance to set up his next attack. "Uuahhh!" he shouts, mocking his opponent before charging in for a spear. However, Roman counters with a Guillotine Choke. Reigns traps Rollins and drives him through the Spanish announce table with a powerbomb, completely destroying it.
The Samoan then sets up the English announce table, looking to repeat the feat. However, Rollins escapes his grasp and instead delivers the very powerbomb Roman had planned, sending him crashing through the table, which is also destroyed. Both men lie motionless on the floor as the referee begins the ten-count. 1..2..3..4..5..6..7..8..9.. Roman and Seth make it back just in time. Rollins capitalizes on his position and catches Roman with a Pedigree. 1..2..NO.
Seth charges at Reigns looking for a Stomp, but the champion cuts him off with a Superman Punch. 1..2..NO. Roman readies a spear. Seth sidesteps it, sending his opponent crashing into the turnbuckles. Rollins immediately follows up with a Stomp. 1...2...NO. Seth brings Reigns to the top turnbuckle and hooks him for a superplex. Rollins looks to finish the sequence with a Broken Arrow, but the champion counters into a Guillotine Choke.
Roman tightens the hold, dragging his opponent down to the mat. Seth refuses to submit. Rollins eventually escapes, only to be cut in half by a spear. 1...2...NO. Roman can't believe it. "This bitch is a two. I'm the one. Do you hear me? I told you before. You're number two. That's all you'll ever be. Don't try to change that, brother," the champion tells Seth. Rollins simply motions for him to keep coming. Furious, Reigns repeatedly pounds away at Rollins as he lies on the mat.
Roman rebounds off the ropes looking for another spear, but Seth suddenly hits one out of nowhere! 1..2..NO. "I'm not a two. You belong to me. The only reason you're number one is because they made you number one. Do you understand? Tonight, I'm taking it away from you," Seth tells Reigns. Rollins nails Roman with a Buckle Bomb and sets up for the Stomp, but the Samoan avoids it and rolls him up. 1..2..NO. Reigns catches Rollins and delivers his own Buckle Bomb, then follows it up with a Stomp. 1..2..NO.
Both men exchange words before resuming the fight. Reigns unloads with several right hands on Seth. One of them sends Rollins crashing into the referee. Roman plants Seth with a DDT before charging in for another spear. Seth dodges it, causing Roman to spear the referee instead, knocking him unconscious. Rollins drills the champion with a Stomp. "The Visionary" remains seated in the corner, contemplating his next move. Suddenly, he decides to leave the ring.
Seth retrieves a steel chair and returns to the ring with it. Roman pulls himself up using the ropes just as Rollins swings for his back. However, it's a move the Samoan knows all too well, and he spins around in time to drop his rival with a devastating right hand. "The OTC" picks up the steel chair. Reigns stares at it as Seth gets back to his feet with the help of the ropes. Rollins seems to expect Roman to strike him from behind. Instead, the champion tosses the chair aside.
Surprised, Rollins steps toward Reigns, who makes it clear that he intends to beat him clean. The two men square off before trading blows once again. Seth counters a spear into a Pedigree. Rollins goes for a Stomp, but Roman avoids it. Seth tries again, and this time he connects. Rollins looks to deliver another Stomp, but Reigns evades it and answers with two consecutive spears. Seth rises to his feet, defiantly challenging Roman, who crushes him with a third spear. The referee recovers in time to make the three-count. 1..2..3.
Winner and STILL World Heavyweight Champion: Roman Reigns
Roman and Seth catch their breath in opposite corners while silently staring at one another. Reigns stands and walks to the center of the ring. Roman extends his fist, just as he used to during his days in The Shield. At that moment, his entrance music stops playing. Rollins approaches the Samoan wearing the same The Shield mask he had on during his entrance. "The Visionary" places it on the mat. He then bumps fists with the Samoan. The two recreate their iconic pose from years past. Rollins heads backstage while the champion continues celebrating. Roman picks up The Shield mask and watches Rollins walk away. With that image, the second night of SummerSlam comes to an end.
