In the last few weeks, TNA Wrestling has bid farewell to prominent talents such as Mike Santana, Eric Young, Sami Callihan, and Tessa Blanchard. A list to which a new name must be added. This is Jody Threat, who recently requested her release from the company. This was revealed by Mike Johnson from PWInsider in a recent report.
"Jody Threat ended her time at TNA during the Philadelphia tapings last week, as confirmed by PWInsider.com. According to our information, Threat requested the termination of her contract and the company agreed to her request. It was described to PWInsider.com as a 'friendly' departure," wrote Johnson.
On the other hand, it is worth noting that Threat's departure takes place just eight months after she signed her last contract with the company, as the wrestler confirmed during an interview for PWInsider last January. The reasons that led her to make this decision are currently unknown.
Threat burst onto the professional wrestling scene in 2017 competing in the Canadian independent circuit. The wrestler made her TNA debut in 2023, quickly earning a spot in the company's television programming. Over these three years, Threat has been involved in prominent storylines, both individually and in tag teams, including her time in MK Ultra alongside Killer Kelly.
However, it wasn't until her partnership with Dani Luna (forming the Spitfire team) that she finally won her first championship in the company, specifically the Knockouts Tag Team World Championship. Her last television appearance took place last week, where she was defeated by Jada Stone in a quarter-final match of the tournament to determine the first Knockouts Television Champion.
