AJ Styles: "I don't know if letting those two teams go was the smartest decision"

In the last few months, prominent talents from WWE have left the company for various reasons. This is the case of two of the best teams in the company: The New Day (who refused to accept a pay cut) and Motor City Machine Guns (who were part of the most recent wave of layoffs in the company).

Two decisions that have been heavily criticized by fans and colleagues in the profession, many of whom still do not understand WWE's strategy in this regard. This is the case of AJ Styles, who directly states that it was not a wise decision on the part of the company.

"I have enormous respect for these two teams and I know perfectly well what they are capable of. I don't know if letting go of those two teams was the smartest decision. In fact, I wouldn't bet that it was the right decision. Although, of course, I am biased," he said.

"I'm talking about two people I have known for a very long time: Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin. Then there's Austin Creed (Xavier Woods), whom I have known for over two decades; our friendship goes way back. And Kofi is an amazing guy," added "The Phenomenal One."

Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin made their debut in All Elite Wrestling last week, confirming their signing with the company and joining the rivalry between Death Riders and The Dogs with Bang Bang Gang. It is expected that Austin Creed and Kofi Kingston will also join the company once their non-compete clause expires.
