A few days ago, WWE announced that Roman Reigns will defend the World Heavyweight Championship at the historic show that the company will hold on September 14th at the iconic Arena México. At that time, fans fantasized about the possible opponents that "The OTC" could face, especially when the company revealed that a tournament would determine the Samoan's challenger.
A fantasy that will have to narrow down its names. WWE has officially presented the tournament bracket, revealing that all its participants (eight in total) will be Mexican wrestlers, both from the company itself and from AAA, leaving out one of the most anticipated by the public: El Grande Americano.
The tournament will begin this coming Monday on WWE Raw, with the first quarter-final match pitting one of the top favorites, Penta, against Laredo Kid. The next match will take place on AAA's television programming, while the final two matches will be held on the August 17th episode of WWE's red brand.
The WWE Raw show in Mexico City will be the culmination of the company's tour of Latin America in the second week of September. Additionally, this will be the only event of the tour where Roman Reigns will be present, as confirmed by WWE in a recent update to the champion's appearance schedule.
