Professional wrestling has had to adapt to the new times, which implies a greater presence on social media, promotional campaigns on the Internet, and, of course, collaboration with influencers. Of all the companies in the business, it is WWE who is leading a greater number of collaborations. So much so, that many fans feel that the company has changed drastically, and not for the better.

Claudio Castagnoli, one of the best European wrestlers of his generation, and current star of All Elite Wrestling, offered his point of view on this during an interview for Unpacked by Sky Sports. In it, the Swiss wrestler recalled that this phenomenon is not really new in the business, hoping that the essence of it is not lost because of it.

"This is nothing new. There have always been celebrities or maybe footballers; before, for example, there were more footballers, or bodybuilders or things like that. Now it's influencers, due to how everything has evolved. As much as that is part of the business, as it attracts a new audience and keeps the interest, I believe that the essence of the wrestling business still remains wrestling and that should not be lost," said Castagnoli.

In recent years, WWE has been characterized by an increasing participation of celebrities and influencers in its television programming, with some of them even being part of the action, such as Bad Bunny, Logan Paul (who actually signed a superstar contract with the company), Jelly Roll, and Lil Yachty, among many others. This trend is not expected to disappear in the short and medium term.
