WWE has confirmed that CM Punk will be part of Worlds Collide, the joint event with AAA that will take place on September 26th at the Allstate Arena in Chicago. The company announced the news on August 13th via Twitter, also revealing Punk's schedule until the end of October as part of the celebration of his 20-year career. As part of the tribute, WWE has launched a special ticket discount promotion with the code "PUNK20", offering up to 20% savings on specific selections.
The date of September 26th was already remarkable on its own. WWE announced weeks ago that they would repeat the Worlds Collide format after the digital success of the first collaboration with AAA, and this time they chose Chicago as the venue. What further elevates the profile of the event is that it will take place on the same Saturday that AEW has scheduled All Out in the Chicago area, creating a direct programming clash between the two major companies.
Punk's inclusion adds an extra layer of narrative to this showdown. The wrestler had two turbulent years in AEW before being released in 2023, and Chicago was one of the cities most associated with his time in the rival promotion. Three years later, WWE places him on their competitive show in the same arena, turning the night into an even more loaded counterprogramming move.
It has not been announced what Punk will exactly do at the event. WWE has not revealed an opponent, and his presence on the schedule does not guarantee that he will compete, but his participation is confirmed.
