Vince Russo is fed up with WWE going back to the same dynamic with The Bloodline over and over again. In his latest podcast, the former company writer acknowledged that they have at least tried to maintain a narrative thread, but his criticism was direct: The Bloodline members are pushed out of the group, spend a few weeks on the outside, and end up being reintegrated time and time again. With Solo Sikoa now caught in that same cycle, Russo asserts that WWE is repeating exactly what they did with Jacob Fatu.
“I'm going to give credit where credit is due. Okay, there was some attempt at a storyline and a thread, but, man, how many times with The Bloodline are the guys going to be out against The Bloodline and then come back? Now we're repeating Solo's story. We just did this with Fatu. We just did the exact same story,” Russo stated.
For Russo, the problem goes beyond Solo and Fatu. He believes that WWE has also abused the dynamic of babyfaces who can't get along on one side of the ring, while on the other side they repeat the same revolving door drama within The Bloodline.
But, man, it seems like you have the babyfaces on one side who can't get along, and I feel like we've been seeing that forever. And then on the other side, okay, this guy is out of The Bloodline for the next three weeks. They put him back in. This guy will be out for the next three weeks. They put him back in. They keep repeating and regurgitating the same shit.
Russo's point is simple: WWE has one of the biggest stories in the company right in front of them, but constantly taking out and putting back family members does not advance the plot. He wants to see the company take more risks instead of rearranging the same pieces every few weeks. The Bloodline has been one of the longest-running stories in WWE, but Russo clearly believes that the formula has reached a point where a major change is needed before fans feel like they are watching the same episode over and over again.
