Kevin Owens recently revealed that he completed the four-week medical clearance process required to return to WWE matches in just nine days. Last year, before WWE's WrestleMania 41 in 2025, Owens was sidelined due to a neck injury and stayed away from the ring for several months. Owens finally returned to competition at SummerSlam 2026.

In an interview with FACES Magazine, Owens discussed his recovery and comeback. During the conversation, he explained in detail how he completed the authorization process in nine days, which normally takes four weeks.

Owens revealed that he received confirmation that he could return to wrestling in July and was back in the ring in August.

"Yes, everything happened very quickly. That's the most incredible part. By the time they told me I could return to the ring, we were in mid-July. I cut my vacation short to get back in the ring as soon as possible. There is a process to get medical clearance, and the longer you've been out, the longer that process is, depending on the injury, surgery, and all those things," he commented.

Somehow, this is another one of those cases where I'm driving everyone a little crazy. I kept asking how much longer until I got cleared, how I could speed it up, what I could do to make it happen as soon as possible, and all that. And they would tell me, 'Well, there are no shortcuts here. If this needs to be done, it needs to be done.' Normally, completing everything takes about four weeks; I did it in nine days.

"Basically, I did everything they asked, but instead of doing one thing one day, another the next day, and another a few days later, I did it all in a row, one thing after another. And in the end, they said, 'Okay, you're cleared.' Then I got the call about SummerSlam, and everything happened very quickly between the moment they told me I could return to the ring and the moment I was at SummerSlam: maybe about two weeks passed," he concluded.
