WWE is preparing to revitalize the tag team division

One of the pending subjects for WWE this past year has undoubtedly been its tag team division. A division that, especially on SmackDown, has lost much of its relevance and some of the best teams that populated it (such as Motor City Machine Guns or The New Day). However, with the imminent arrival of Hiromu Takahashi, this landscape seems about to change, as revealed by WresteVotes in a recent report on Fightful Select.

"According to a source with knowledge of the situation, the team formed by Shinsuke Nakamura and Hiromu Takahashi is being positioned as one of the main contenders on SmackDown, while also it is expected that Axiom and Nathan Frazer will enjoy more television time," wrote Fightful Select.

"Regarding Monday Night Raw, although The Vision continues to hold the titles, a source points out that finding new contenders on the red brand has been a topic of internal debate. With The Street Profits currently off television because Montez Ford is celebrating the birth of his son, and The Americans off-screen at least until after TripleMania, the possibility of giving more prominence to the team formed by Ethan Page and Rusev has been discussed," the outlet wrote.

"However, we are informed that there are people within the company who do not want either of the two talents to end up simply lost in the tag team division. This has led to the idea of pushing them as a team being, for now, more of a topic of debate than a definitive direction," the report continued.

"Although The Creed Brothers have recently returned to television programming on Main Event, we are informed that, as far as we know, they have not been internally mentioned as possible contenders for The Vision titles," the report concluded.

These past two weeks, Shinsuke Nakamura has been dropping hints about his return alongside a mysterious partner, pointing to MFT (who now have the legend Haku as their manager) as their first targets. At the moment, it is unknown when Takahashi's debut will take place, although everything indicates that the new duo will be seen on television very soon.
