WWE canceled plans for a Lil Yachty concert at Sunday Night's Main Event

The company doesn't want to repeat the mistakes from the last edition of the show

Despite this, the rapper and Trick Williams continue to feature prominently in the event's promotional material

Lil Yachty has become one of the celebrities with the highest presence on WWE's television programming in 2026. The artist, Grammy-nominated producer, and composer has been a fundamental part of Trick Williams' recent reign, with an alliance that began during the Road to WrestleMania 42.

Despite his defeat in the grand event, Williams still has the support of the rapper, who was also scheduled to have a significant role in Sunday Night's Main Event. However, the company has ended up discarding these plans, as reported by WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select.

"According to sources with knowledge of the situation, WrestleVotes Radio reports that one of the original ideas for the upcoming Sunday Night's Main Event program was to include and heavily promote a live concert by Lil Yachty as one of the main attractions of the show. Although the concert is no longer part of the plans, Yachty and Trick Williams are expected to remain one of the main focuses of the show. This has also been reflected in the promotional materials," the outlet wrote.

"As we have been informed, the concert idea ended up being discarded after the reactions generated by the segments that occupied a large part of the last edition of Saturday Night's Main Event, so the company has chosen this time to give much more importance to the wrestling product," the report concluded.

It is worth noting that the last edition of Saturday Night's Main Event, held at the iconic Madison Square Garden, featured the presence of some New York Knicks players, some of whom enjoyed more prominence than the superstars who competed that night. In fact, the show's main segment consisted of a recognition ceremony for player Jalen Brunson driven by Roman Reigns.
