WWE continues to prepare the card for its upcoming special event, Sunday Night's Main Event, which will take place on September 6th. In addition to the two previously announced matches, a new and unexpected match has been added, confirmed in the most recent episode of SmackDown: Baron Corbin will face Lil Yachty with a title opportunity at stake.
The match was proposed by Corbin himself after another altercation with the rapper and Trick Williams, who is determined to regain the United States Championship, currently held by "The Lone Wolf". After refusing to grant him his desired rematch, Baron ordered Trick to get Yachty out of his face once and for all. However, all he managed to do was to be expelled from the ring by his two enemies.
Tired of this situation, Baron agreed to put the championship on the line in one final match against Williams, but with one condition: Yachty will have to survive five minutes in the ring against him. If the rapper succeeds, Trick will get his long-awaited rematch. If Yachty loses, his story will be completely finished. After careful consideration, the rapper accepted. "Yachty, these will be the longest five minutes of your life," said a smiling Baron before returning backstage.
WWE Sunday Night's Main Event will take place on September 6th at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Fans can witness this event live from the venue, or through its broadcast on Peacock in the USA and on YouTube internationally. Below is the updated card so far.
